Summary
When the team is having trouble taking down an opponent who is constantly flying around the map and dodging attacks inMarvel Rivals, sometimes all that is needed is a quick and easy stun ability. Locking an enemy in place, even if just for a few seconds, leaves them wide open to attack, making these techniques especially useful for dealing with highly mobileDuelists, or even Vanguards and Healers that are trying to support their team.
Though there are quite a few characters in the game who possess attacks that will inflict Slow, being able to completely immobilize an enemy combatant is a little rarer, considering how powerful doing so can be. However, there are still a handful of heroes who can pull this off, making them a huge asset to their teams by helping to make everyone’s jobs a little easier.

8Hulk
Hulk Can Leap To The Backlines And Stun Enemies With His Radioactive Lockdown
When Hulk isn’t buffing his teammates or standing in the line of fire to keep his allies protected, he is able to throw out his Radioactive Lockdown which can freeze an enemy in place for a few seconds. Being able to pull this off as a Vanguard makes Hulk incredibly useful.
Not only can he use it to clamp down on any high-damageDPS enemieswho are causing him trouble, like Star-Lord or Scarlet Witch, for example, but he can also completely immobilize enemy healers, who may be hiding behind their bulkier teammates. In fact, through the use of Hulk’s Incredible Leap, the green brute is capable of reaching the enemy backlines pretty easily, meaning shutting down enemies is quick and simple, no matter how much the target may try to hide.

7Hela
Hela Can Stun Her Opponents While She Prepares Her Other Devastating Abilities In The Meantime
Soul Drainer may only root an enemy in place for little more than a second, but it still gives Hela just enough time to wind up her other abilities which come with lengthy startup animations, most notably her Piercing Night attack. At the same time, Hela can also deploy Soul Drainer when she plans to make a quick getaway with Astral Flock, ensuring she doesn’t get taken down before she cantake to the skies.
The only drawbacks to this ability are that it has a fairly short range, and also a long cooldown, so it’s certainly not one that should be wasted. When using the ability though, it can help to try and aim the reticle above the head of the target, since its curved trajectory will allow it to then drop directly onto them.

6Mantis
Mantis' Spore Slumber Can Send Enemies To Sleep, Even When They’re Unleashing An Ultimate Attack
There are a few different ways Mantis’ immensely powerful Spore Slumber can be used. For one, Mantis herself can throw it out whenever she’s being attacked, where it will be especially useful if the enemy is a melee-based combatant who will be sent into a deep sleep as soon as the Spore is dropped.
It can also be used to deactivate certain enemy ultimate attacks before they are fully unleashed. While using it this way can take a little bit of practice, since the range is pretty poor, so long as players get close enough, Mantis’ Spore Slumber will always prove to be a big help, especially considering the lengthy duration of its effects, which can keep an enemy out of the battle for quite a while.

5Scarlet Witch
Dark Seal Is A Unique, But Pretty Tricky Ability To Use Effectively
Dark Seal is the most unique stun ability in the game, in the sense that it takes more than just tossing it directly at an enemy for it to work. When thrown out, Dark Seal will take a moment or two before it bursts into a small force field, and anyone caught in the barrier will periodically be stunned in place.
The best way to use this tricky ability is getting behind enemy lines through the use of Mystic Projection, and then unleashing it when the opponents least suspect it. This is an easy way to throw the opposing team off their game, while also making it much easier for Scarlet Witch’s teammates to land their shots.

4Groot
Groot’s Ultimate Roots Multiple Enemies At Once Which Can Be Used In Conjunction With His Allies
Admittedly, Groot’s only stun ability is hisultimate attack, Strangling Prison, which means it can only be used once or twice in a regular match. However, the ability makes up for this shortcoming by targeting multiple enemies at once. The way it works is that Groot will throw out a wave of branches that will pull any nearby enemies into a single spot, leaving them imprisoned and unable to move, essentially turning them into sitting ducks.
Groot’s kit centers around making him as much of a nuisance for the enemy team as possible, including this ultimate attack which can work wonders when used in tandem with other allied abilities. For example, if Groot immobilizes two to three enemies, the Punisher can then use either his Culling Turret or ultimate attack to wipe them all out in mere seconds, and that’s just one of many combos that can be deployed here.

3Peni Parker
After Stunning Her Enemies, Peni Can Then Surround Them With Her Deadly Explosive Drones
The multiple uses of Peni’s Cyber-Web-Snare ability can allow her to play a few mind games on her opponent. If the web is aimed directly at an enemy, it will wrap them up, leaving them unable to move and an open target for the rest of the team. If, however, Peni misses the enemy and shoots it on a surface, it will instead create a Cyber-Web that will boost hermovement speed.
Therefore, the enemy combatants will need to make a quick guess whether she’s going to try and shut them down with a stun, or if she’s simply looking to acquire a buff, which can cause a lot of anxiety among an enemy team. Once Peni has an enemy locked down, it also gives her time to spread her own explosive Spider-Drones around them to melt their health bar once they are freed.

2Squirrel Girl
The Squirrel Blockade Will Ground An Enemy in Place While Squirrel Girl Pelts Them With Burst Acorns
Squirrel Blockade can be a little tricky to use effectively since it’s all too easy to overthrow the ability completely. However, it’s worth keeping in mind that this ability can be charged up, so it’s always a good idea to take some time when activating it, rather than throwing it out as quickly as possible.
Once the Squirrel Guards meet their target, they will surround them, disabling their movement for a few seconds while the other characters take a few potshots at them in the meantime. Considering how damaging Squirrel Girl’s own attacks are thanks to her Burst Acorns, she can also make quick work of an enemy by herself when catching an enemy by surprise with this ability.

1Luna Snow
Luna’s Iceball Makes Her A Healer Who No Enemy Wants To Get Close To
Luna Snow is arguably the most annoyingStrategistin the game for enemy teams to deal with, not only because of her faster movement speed and health regeneration but also due to her stun capabilities. With the press of a button, Luna can hurl out a giant snowball to freeze a target in place, and since the ice fires in a straight line, it can even affect enemies from a long distance when used correctly.
Of course, this ability, first and foremost, is about assisting the rest of the team and setting up free kills, but Luna can also activate it to skate her way out of a dangerous situation. Either way, this one ability can make life so much easier for Luna’s allies, while also acting as a lifeline for theK-pop starherself.
