In a new announcement, it was confirmed that the 12th episodeof Arifureta’s third season will be delayed. Instead of following the weekly schedule, the anime has postponed its next episode all the way to 2025. Arifureta season three will release its 12th episode on June 03, 2025.
A Turbulent Time For The Anime Industry
The entire month of December has been filled with delays for many anime. Most of them are linked to the holidays, as the staff need time off as well. In some unique cases, the anime gets delayed because of production-related issues. These issues have become more prominent over the years. With so many anime titles being released, the studios have a hard time keeping up.
A lot of the time, the studios are forced to pick up a series immediately to keep the momentum going. This leaves the studio understaffed, and it causes the quality of animation to suffer. Also, it is worth noting that not every studio has the same facilities. Some studios are bigger, and they have the staff to deal with these situations. However, others do not have the means to juggle multiple projects.
In either case, forcing studios to produce new projects in a short span is very problematic, and it results in a lackluster anime, for which the production company has to suffer.
Arifureta Is A Popular Light Novel Series
Arifureta is based on thelight novel series written by Ryo Shirakome and illustrated by Takayaki. Originally, it was serialized as a web novel, but it was later picked up by Overlap for publication. Due to its popularity, Arifureta has received a manga adaptation, which began serialization on the Comic Gardi website.
In terms of sales,Arifureta light novels have soldover 4 million copies, which is a solid number for any light novel series. It would be remiss to not mention that the report is outdated and the new number is likely to be higher.
Arifureta’s anime adaptation was announced in December 2017, and it was supposed to premiere in 2018 but had to be delayed due to various issues. Eventually, it premiered in 2019. Thesecond season of the animeaired in 2022, and shortly afterward, a third season was announced.
