Why Wasn’t Asmongold Monetized on Twitch?
It might be a bit confusing to learn that Asmongold’s account is just now being monetized.Asmongold has been primarily streaming on his alt account, zackrawrr, since 2022, and had purposefully chosen not to monetize it. However, Asmongold recently claimed that he expected Twitch was losing money due to the huge crowds he was generating via his streams. As Asmongold’s alt account wasn’t set up to be a Twitch affiliate or partner, the streaming platform wasn’t showing ads, but still had to spend money to host the streams. Asmongold stated that if Twitch was going to force ads to be shown on the stream, then he would set up monetization so he’d get a cut of it, which is seemingly what has now happened.
