Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACKis officially coming to the U.S.! The finalAttack on Titansaga got fans hyped for many reasons. Despite initial concerns regarding changes in the production, the public soon became eager to see what studio MAPPA could do with the final arc.

The fourth and last season was a ride. It was divided into four parts, and at the end of each part, fans couldn’t wait for the next one. MAPPA was able to keep the hype and deliver something that got the public thrilled. Although the series original finale is not to the liking of many, MAPPA surely was able to bring the action to life and deliver beautiful scenes.

And after all of that, they still got one more surprise: parts 3 and 4 would be compiled into a movie,with new scenes! TheAttack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACKdebuted in Japan last November, with agood reception from the public. And recently, during CCXP24 in São Paulo (Brazil),Crunchyroll confirmed it will once again partner with Sony Pictures to release the movie in North American theaters in early 2025! They movie will alsobe release in several other countries.

Crunchyroll describes it as a “cinematic experience that combines the final chapters of the highly acclaimed anime series in one colossal film.” No further information about the release window was announced so far, but “early 2025” usually means something around “within the first three months of the year”. The movie is 145 minutes long.

Despite changing studios from season 3 to season 4,Hiroshi Sekokept his position as the head writer both inAttack on Titan Final Seasonand inThe Last Attackmovie. His other works as main screenwriter includeSeraph of the End, Ajin: Demi-Human, Banana FishandDorohedoro.

Yuichiro Hayashihas been in charge of the series directionsince theFinal Season, and also directed the new compilation film. He actually worked with Hiroshi Seko beforeAttack on Titan, when he directedDorohedoroanime adaptation in early 2020. Hayashi was also at CCXP24, and he briefly talked about the experience of directingAttack on Titan, and the responsibility he felt on his shoulders for ending this beloved series.

Other returning staff members includeTomohiro Kishi(character design),Kuniaki Nemoto(art direction) andDaisuke Niinuma(chief animation direction, which is not the same position as the general director).
