Summary

Sunkenlandis a pretty uniquesurvival gamein many respects. The gameplay takes place on a map that is covered in water, apart from islands dotted around the seascape. Underneath the water are the ruins of a previous civilization, and the player must access and exploit the resources these ruins contain.

The game has received some transformational updates in previous months, and the new 0.6 update continues this trend, adding some long-awaited features, and also some new options for powering a base. There have also been new farming structures added, and an entirely new range of brick-built structures as well, which will boostbase building.

Sunkenland New Brick Structures

7New Brick Structures

An Entire Range Of Brick Blocks

The 0.6 update forSunkenlandhas added an entirely new selection of structures to the game. These structures are made from brick, and are much stronger than the basic wooden structures such as walls and flooring.

These new brick structures need to be unlocked by upgrading the research bench and thenresearching the right technology. So they won’t be available in the early game stage. These are a great new addition, as they mean that bases will be stronger, and be able to take more damage from NPC raids. Brick molds have been added, and can be purchased from traders.

Sunkenland Blueprints Randomly Refreshed

6Blueprints Randomly Refreshed

Making Traders More Useful

One of the major gripes that long-term fans ofSunkenlandhave had, is that the blueprint inventory of traders is static. This means that finding a specific blueprint in stock is really just down to luck. Furthermore, if a player wants or needs more than the number of blueprints available, then no dice.

In the 0.6 update, this problem has now been solved. The blueprint inventory of traders will now randomly refresh. This means that out-of-stock blueprints will be restocked, so that players can buy as many as they want, if they are prepared to wait for refreshes.

Sunkenland High-Temperature Furnace Changes

5High-Temperature Furnace Changes

Can Now Fire Brick Into Brick Stacks

As mentioned above, theSunkenland0.6 update adds a new range of brick-built structures to the game. Therefore, a new method for making stacks of bricks needed to be added as well. This has been done by changing the way that a high-temperature furnace works.

A newcrafting recipehas been added to the specialized crafting station, to fire individual bricks into stacks of bricks, once the player has unlocked the technology. This means the player can feed individual bricks from a brick mold into the furnace, and turn them into stacks for crafting with.

Sunkenland Refinery POI Changes

4Refinery POI Changes

Added A Basement

The refinery is one of the large underwater POIs in Sukenland. It is a good location for looting resources, although it can be tricky to dive down to safely unless the player has upgraded their diving gear.

In the 0.6 update forSunkenland, the refinery POI has been updated. It now has a basement beneath the structure, meaning more loot. However, this makes the POI even more difficult to exploit early on, and likely won’t be worth trying to access until later in the game.

Sunkenland Amusement Park Changes

3Amusement Park Changes

Main Structures Now More Visible

One of the hardest challenges to overcome inSunkenland, is locating structures and objects underwater. Visibility is often poor, especially at night when no sunlight is lighting up the sea bed. This is a worse problem for some large POIs that are in deep water, such as the amusement park.

This particular POI has been updated, to make the main structures more visible. They are still quite hard to make out, but before the 0.6 update, they were often impossible to find at night.

Sunkenland New Types Of Structures

2New Types Of Structures

Railings, Flowerbeds and Vases

Some new base structures have been added in the 0.6 update ofSunkenland. These come in the form of new railings, which will be great for helping to build a more defensible base, and also some planter options.

The planter options are vases and flowerbeds. The vase will hold a single flower. The sem-circular flowerbed will be able to grow two flowers. And the circular and rectangular flowerbeds will be able to grow four flowers. The player will need to unlock the tier 4 research tree at the research table, and also purchase the flowerbed and vase blueprints from the furniture trader before they can craft these. There are a number of different types of flowers that have been added to the game, with a promise that more will follow in future updates. This extends thefarming gameplaynicely.

Sunkenland Wind and Solar Power Return

1Wind and Solar Power Return

Opening Up Power Options

Some time ago, the way thatwind turbinesand solar panels work inSunkenlandwas changed, making them auxiliary base equipment. Meaning they simply contributed towards the power generation capability of the base.

In theSunkenland0.6 update, both solar panels and wind generators are now independent pieces of equipment, and can provide power individually. This makes power generation options more flexible, and in some cases, means the player won’t even need a fueled generator. Although larger bases will likely struggle to make enough wind and solar power to run in a fully sustainable fashion.
