InDragon Age: The Veilguard, players can choose between three classes: the Rogue, the Warrior, and the Mage. For those who choose the Rogue, there are three Specializations, each with their unique attributes. The Veil Ranger is one of these Specializations that focuses on Ranged attacks.
While this option doesn’t offer much mobility, its long-range damage is what sets it apart. To ensure players get the most from this feature, they need the best weapons for the Veil Ranger.Strong Bows are a must, but for those times when they need to get up close and personal with their enemies, it’s also important to have solid main-hand and off-hand weapons.
1Golden Grassblade
A Great Defensive Boost
The Veil Ranger does their best work from a distance, so when they have to fight at close quarters, they need all the help they can get. The Golden Grassblade is an ideal weapon choice, especially during the early game, because of its effective boost to Rook’s Defense.
As this weapon’sperks are unlocked, players will enjoy even more Defensive boosts. They can find the Golden Grassblade in chests throughout Arlathan Forest. It can later be purchased from the Veil Jumpers Faction Vendor once it reaches Rank 4.
2Storm Needle
Enhanced Critical Damage
For players looking todeal extra damage, the Storm Needle is a great choice. It delivers awesome Physical damage and high Stagger for any time players need to engage in close combat. As its perks are unlocked, Penetration and the effects of Critical Damage will increase.
This weapon can be purchased from the Veil Jumpers Faction Shop at Rank 1. It can also be found during the “In Entropy’s Grasp” quest in a marked chest. Other copies can be found in the Crossroads in the Converged City, in Arlathan Forest, and during the “House of the Dead” quest.
3Glory Hunter’s Bow
Increased Ranged Damage
The Veil Ranger isall about Ranged attacks, and this weapon is perfect for enhancing them. The Glory Hunter’s Bow offers decent Physical damage and Stagger, but its real benefits come from its unlocked perks. Once it reaches Rare and Epic statuses, players will enjoy greater damage against long-distance enemies and increased Weakpoint damage.
Players can obtain this Bow as an automatic reward once completing the quest “On Blighted Wings.” It’s also accessible in chests found during the “Isle of Gods,” “Blood of Arlathan,” and “The Wolf’s Call” quests.
4Dragon’s War Bow
Fire And Electric Damage
Veil Rangers work best from a distance, and anything that boosts Electric damage is a viable option. The Dragon’s War Bow applies both Fire and Electric damage based on its rarity level. It also deals a good bit of Stagger, making it a well-rounded choice for starting out.
This weapon can be found in a chest during “The Warden’s Vault” quest. It can also be purchased from the Shadow Dragons Faction Shop once it reaches Rank 4 or Alis in Dock Town.
5Cutthroat’s Sword
Enhanced Precision
In close combat, players need every hit to count, especially when their protagonist is primarily a Ranged fighter. The Cutthroat’s Sword is perfect for enhancing close-quarters fighting by increasing Rook’s Precision. This ensures players will get off more Critical hits for maximum damage.
They can find this weapon at the Rank 2 Grey Wardens Faction Shop. It’s also availableduring several quests, including “A Warden’s Best Friend,” “Something Wrong,” “The Siege of Weisshaupt,” and “Something’s Coming.”
6Focal Blade
High Physical Damage And Stagger
When players need to engage in melee combat, they’ll need the best weapons for the Veil Ranger. The Focal Blade offers someserious Physical damageand high Stagger, making it a phenomenal choice even as a Common weapon. However, once its perks begin to unlock, it also becomes a formidable source of Electric damage, making it perfect for this Rogue Specialization.
Players can find this Bow during the quest “Pinnacle of Its Kind” when fighting the iteration of The Formless One in the Mossberg Wetlands. It can also be found during the quests “The Demon’s Bargain” and “The Blood of Arlathan” in chests.
7Dauntless Greatbow
Great For High Electric Damage
To maximize Electric damage, players should pick up the Dauntless Greatbow. This weapon offers decent Physical damage and Stagger, but its real benefits come from unlocking its perks. Each level of rarity grants Rook increased Electric damage, making them aserious long-range danger.
This Bow can be found at the Rank 3 Veil Jumpers Faction Shop. During the quest “Loyal Friends,” an enemy specific to the quest will also drop a chest with this Bow inside. Another copy is available after completing the quest “Disrupt and Conquer” and a final one in Arlathan Forest in a chest.
