Summary
2025 promises to be a big year forLeague of Legends, and from now on, each year will be split into three themed seasons which will take over the map, events, and to a lesser extent, gameplay.
Season 1 of 2025 is all about Noxus, but as with every start to the new year, there are a plethora of other updates and new features to try out. The following are thebiggest changes toLoLin the new seasonand the ones that players will want to keep an eye on for their climbs in early 2025.

6A Noxus Themed Season & Map
Noxus Events, Skins, Reworks, & A New Champion
With Noxus as the theme for Season 1, fans will notice that the map now resembles the daunting imperial capital, most notably with scorched foliage and daunting metal turrets ready to thwart any dive. During Season 1, players can also expect Noxus-themed events, with rewards to matchincluding free loot.
The first batch of skins, called Masque ofthe Black Rose, explores the secret cabal at the heart of Noxian politics, while a visual update for its matron Leblanc is on the way. Mel Medarda fromArcaneis also on her way with a new look to reflect her Noxian roots and return. Some of the other new features, such as Atakhan and Feats of Strength, are also themed around Noxus, but they require a more in-depth overview.

5Atakhan, A New Neutral Objective
Has 2 Different Forms Depending On Action Levels & Can Spawn Top Or Bottom
Atakhan is a new Epic monster and neutral objective for Summoner’s Rift, who spawns at the 20-minute mark, with Baron’s spawn pushed back to 25 minutes. Interestingly, while Atakhan will always spawn in the river, his position depends on which side, top of bot, has seen more damage and kills by 14 minutes when his pit spawns.
Furthermore, in a more bloodthirsty game, Ruinous Atakhan will spawn, with the reward of killing him being an increased effect from all Epic monster kills such as Dragons. Blood Roses, which grant XP and Adaptive Force, will also be left behind on his death. In lower-action games, teams will instead have the chance to take down Voracious Atakhan, who grants a one-time resurrection to the base, as well as providing players will an additional 40g for every kill they get for the rest of the game. With every buff being strong, teams should certainly look to contest this new objective.

4Nexus Turrets Can Respawn
This Gives Badly Losing Teams A Better Chance At Coming Back
One of the biggest gameplay changes in 2025, is that the Nexus turrets can now respawnafter 3 minutes. This means that even when teams are incredibly far behind and their base has been destroyed, they can now work toward a more realistic victory.
Previously, even if a losing team’s inhibitors respawned, they would still have to be wary of backdoors and enemy pushes without the help of minions. This made contesting objectives such as Baron and Elder Dragon almost impossible. Now if they can defend for 3 minutes, they have abetter chance to scale and fight back.

3Boot Upgrades Called Feats Of Strength
These Are Rewarded For Getting First Blood, First Tower, & Slaying 3 Epic Monsters
Feats of Strength are a new series of boot upgrades that only one team will have access to each game. That team is the one who can get at least two out of the following three achievements in a game: first blood, first tower, or first to kill three Epic monsters, such as Dragons. The gold bonuses for first blood and tower have subsequently been removed.
Upon claiming this reward, each member of the team will have their Tier 2 boots slightly improved to a Triumphant form. For example, they would gain +5% Attack Speed for Triumphant Berserker’s Greaves and +5 Armor for Triumphant Plated Steelcaps. Later, after having bought at least two Legendary items, players of this team can further upgrade their boots for 750 gold. These Tier 3 boots are much more powerful and offer a late-game reward to keep early-game compositions in with a chance.

2New Runes
Some Of These Shake Up How Vision Will Work
In place of Ghost Poro, Zombie Ward, Eyeball Collection, and Nullifying Orb, four new Minor Runes have been added, with three of them looking rather revolutionary forvision inLeague of Legends.
Deep Ward allows wards placed in the enemy’s territory to gain additional health and last longer. Sixth Sense will automatically ping and mark nearby wards, and after level 11 they will be revealed too allowing them to be taken down. Grisly Mementos grants trinket Ability Haste for each takedown, and lastly, Axiom Arcanist empowers ultimate abilities and refunds a small amount of their cooldown upon takedowns.

1Multiplayer Practice Tool
Players Can Now Test Out Combos, Interactions, Or Laning With Friends
The Practice Tool, perfect for veterans andbeginners inLeaguealike, has been out for many years, but with one glaring absence. Now, however, up to 10 players can enter the Practice Tool at once, allowing friends to practice combos, laning against one another, or any number of things.
This could also prove to be a blessing for pro teams who can practice late-game scenarios and the like. It is also a great way of trying out all the new changes, not only for this Season, but future ones too.
