Blue Exorcistreturned last season for a new arc, and now episodes of the highly anticipatedBlue Night Sagahavejust begun airing, after the holiday break. Fans can watch it onCrunchyroll.
Studio VOLN has been handling the series since the third season (replacing A-1 Pictures), andthe new OP and ED were recently releasedalongside the first episode of the new arc. Fans actuallyexpected it to take a bit longerfor the studio to start adapting theBlue Night Saga.

According toinformation regarding the home video releases for the new cour, it is listed with 12 episodes(two DVD/Blu-ray volumes are set to be launched). Information coming from the DVD releases tends to be accurate, so it’s unlikely (but not impossible) that this arc will have more than 12 episodes.
The Blue Night Saga
TheBlue Night Saga, also known asBlue Night Remembrancearc, is filled with revelations about Rin Okuruma’s past and birth. The Blue Night is a major event in the series' lore, so fans are eager to know more about it (especially those who haven’t read the manga yet). We can also expect to see a lot from Mephisto Pheles, a key character in this part of the plot.
Since this is a carryover from the Fall 2024 Anime Season, the main staff and cast remain the same, so fans can also expect the series to maintain the same quality on those fronts.
The Anime Is Now Catching Up With the Manga
This arc is covered from volumes 22 to 25, and it comprises 21 chapters. Since the Beyond the Snow arc (16 chapters) was adapted in a single cour, it’s unlikely this arc will also be fully covered in thisWinter 2025 Anime Season. After the Blue Night Saga comes the ongoingOf One Clotharc.
Since the manga has gone through some hiatuses recently, it’s uncertain what the production will do after Blue Night Saga. They might give the adaptation a break, so Kazue Kato can finish the arc.
Blue Exorcistis currently streaming on Crunchyroll. The next episode is set for Jul 25, 2025. Previous seasonsalso air on Toonami.
