Summary
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6developer Treyarch Studios has said no previous title in theBlack Opsseries is off the table when it comes to potential multiplayer map remasters. While fans often beg for classic maps to make a return, Treyarch’s Associate Creative Director Miles Leslie has said that the studio is focused on delivering original designs forCall of Duty: Black Ops 6, but has seemingly teased that more remasters could be on the way in future seasons.
WhileBlack Ops 6has received rave reviews from criticsand fans, its lackluster map pool has been a common complaint amongCall of Dutyplayers. Stakeout, which is a small, fast-paced map set in an apartment building in Avalon, is often the top choice for players, with other maps such as Babylon being heavily criticized for their awful spawn points. Treyarch did add everybody’s favorite Nuketown back into the mix shortly after launch, but the game’s original maps have led to more and more players begging Treyarch to bring back more of the classics.

Treyarch Teases More Remasters for Black Ops 6
Call of Duty’s Season 1 Reloaded updatehas already brought back Hacienda fromBlack Ops 4, but it looks like even more remasters could be in the works at Treyarch. In a new interview withDexerto, the studio’s Associate Creative Director Miles Leslie touched on the topic of map remasters and said that the developers “put a ton of consideration into the prospective remasters.” He then noted that Treyarch is aware that there are certain fan-favorite maps that players would like to see return, but said that the studio is focused on “delivering original designs” for the majority ofBlack Ops 6’s post-launch maps. However, the good news is that Leslie went on to say that “no previousBlack Opstitle is off the table for potential remasters.”
Rumors have already been floating around aboutpotential maps returning inBlack Ops 6, with Launch from the originalBlack Opsbecoming the latest name to be thrown into the mix. Fans have also already discovered an updated version of Courtyard fromCall of Duty: World at Waron the outskirts of the originalBlack Ops 6map, Skyline, suggesting that the studio has already got its map remasters figured out. However, plans can always change behind the scenes, so the map’s discovery doesn’t necessarily mean it will be added toBlack Ops 6.
There’s no confirmed release date forBlack Ops 6’s second season just yet, but it is expected to arrive sometime in January, likely adding even more weapons and maps into the mix. Despite the controversy surrounding the shooter’s maps,Black Ops 6’s first season seems to have been a success for Treyarch, as Activision recently revealed that it has hadthe biggest launch inCall of Dutyhistory. The publisher announced back in November thatBlack Ops 6’s first 30 days of launch brought in the highest total players, hours played, and total matches in the franchise’s history.
