Summary
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6players are expressing their frustrations with the game’s Prestige system, specifically calling for developer Treyarch Studios to stop resetting player’s emotes and operator skins with every Prestige.Call of Duty’s classic Prestige system was a welcome return for fans inBlack Ops 6, allowing players to work their way up the rankings and reset at level 55 to move up to the next Prestige, but fans believe that some of the resets are completely unnecessary.
After many years of an overhauled leveling system,Black Ops 6finally brought back the classicCall of DutyPrestige feature. It was 2019’s reboot of theModern Warfareseries that saw the franchise make an unwelcome change to the game’s Prestige system, introducing a seasonal leveling system with each of the game’s major content updates. But after five years, Treyarch heard the outcry from fans and confirmed it would be returning to the classic system. Now, when players reach level 55 they will have the option to Prestige and be sent back to level 1, just like the good old days. There are also plenty of rewards for Prestiging, including operator skins, weapon blueprints, and many other cosmetic items.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Players Unhappy With Prestige Resets
Knowingwhether or not to Prestige inBlack Ops 6can be a tricky decision, as players are sent back to level 1 with re-locked weapons and equipment. But one thing that appears to be even more irritating to players is that their operator skins and emotes are being completely reset with each Prestige. Although they aren’t being locked like weapons, every time a player hits a new Prestige they are forced to re-equip their desired operator skin and emotes as both are set to the default options. The community is now calling for Treyarch to change this annoying feature, with Reddit user Nincompoop221 saying there is “absolutely no reason on this earth” for Prestiging to reset emotes and operators.
It’s unclear if Treyarch chose to resetBlack Ops 6’s operator skinsand emotes intentionally or if it’s a yet-to-be-rectified bug, but players certainly aren’t happy about it. Users such asTrashboat77pointed out that weapon loadouts being reset is annoying but “at least it makes sense,” whereas there is “zero reason” for Prestiging to reset player’s operators and emotes.ReserveSpecific2128also chimed in and said, “I agree. Same for GobbleGum packs. I hate having to redo everything every time I prestige. I don’t know why they made it to reset every time someone prestige’s but it’s definitely annoying having to redo everything every time.”
If this annoying Prestige feature is a bug, or if Treyarch hears the complaints from the community, there’s hope that it may be changed in a futureBlack Os 6update. For now though, players are going to need to live with their operators and emotes being reset every time they Prestige.
