Treyarch has revealed that Double XP is returning toCall of Duty: Black Ops 6andWarzoneon December 24. This will give players the opportunity to grind out the levels inCall of Duty: Black Ops 6over the holiday season with a much faster XP rate than usual.
Gamers who have been playing plenty ofBlack Ops 6since launch may have noticed that Treyarch has been extremely liberal with its Double XP events. The grind to Prestige Master isn’t easy, but Treyarch has continued to provide players with lots of opportunities to make the journey much easier. There has been a fair bit ofcontroversy surroundingBlack Ops 6’s Double XP eventsso far, though. Many gamers have complained that they only earn under 1.5x XP above the usual, as opposed to the advertised 2x XP. Whether this issue will be resolved with the upcoming event remains to be seen.
Interestingly, Treyarch has yet to officially announce the upcomingBlack Ops 6andWarzoneDouble XP event. However, a quick look at the in-game event menu reveals that Double XP is coming on December 24. This means that any gamer waking up to a copy ofCall of Duty: Black Ops 6on Christmas Day can hop in and immediately enjoy Double XP rates, which will help catch up with theplayers who have already reached Prestige Master. No details beyond the start date have been revealed, although previous Double XP events have also featured Double Weapon XP, Double Battle Pass XP, and Double GobbleGum Earn Rate, so that’s a possibility here, too.

Some players do feel that they’re becoming too frequent. While it’s been a long time since the days when there would be maybe a couple of Double XP weekends in an entire game cycle, there’s still a balance to be struck to make them feel special.
