Another of the many mysteries and puzzles withinIndiana Jones and the Great Circlecomes from the Sukhothai chapter, where Indy can find yet another lockbox belonging to some fascists who don’t deserve the contents inside. Luckily, Indy’s smarts haven’t failed him yet, and the challenge between two friends involving a cipher and its decryption will result in Indy getting his hands on some sweet loot.
The Counting Letters puzzle can be found in the central tent in Wat Mahathat, the middle island of the map. While the area may be crawling with fascists, it won’t stop the need to solve mysteries inIndiana Jones and the Great Circle, so here’s exactly how to solve the puzzle and its solution.
How to Solve Bartolomeo’s Challenge – Counting Letters
Inside the tent with the lockbox is Bartolomeo’s Challenge Note, which players can pick up to find their one and only clue: the code is J-H-H-S. Since the lock on the chest requires numbers, players are going to need to use the cipher to figure out what JHHS translates to. However, there’s a catch, as only 3 of the 4 cipher wheels have the 4 letters they need.
To understand this better, the first wheel for the cipher reads R-C-D-O-A-J-B-S. Players need the J and the S from this wheel, so go ahead and place it in the 1st slot.
Now, it’s a good idea to get the two identical letters “H” out of the way, and players can find these on the table with the cipher:
Interact with the lid of the cipher and use the left stick to make the letters spell out J-H-H. Look below letters, and this should translate to B-I-E. Now, take the first wheel and place it in the fourth slot and rotate it until an S is showing. This provides the final piece of the puzzle with the letter R. Thus, the decoded letters are B-I-E-R.
To the right of the cipher will be a Code Table, and in the left column on the 6th row will be B-I-E-R, along with its code: 4134. Players can now use this code on the lockbox to unlock it andclaim the contents withinas their own.
