Rey going on to become a mentor would be an interesting change of pace from how audiences have previously seen her. Throughout her time inStar Wars, audiences have seen her go from knowing nothing about her origins and her powers to becoming a powerful Jedi capable of so much. However, people haven’t seen her in a position whereshe could genuinely provide adviceand guidance to another character, which would create a potentially strong relationship for her to build on if the connection between the characters is right. It will also be interesting to see what age Rey ends up being in this particular movie; whether they choose to age her heavily or move on a few more years, there are several options that can be taken.
It’s currently unknown who Rey will be mentoring in this particular movie, as that character will likely be the lead role here. This new partnership could be just as iconic if Rey’s bond with the mystery character is strong enough and the chemistry between them is genuine.
