Vegeta’s Super Saiyan Transformations

Vegeta has had many transformations over the years. Fans know him to be one of the few Super Saiyans that have appeared in the series over the years. Goku, who is the first known Super Saiyan inDragon Ball Z, achieved his form in the Namek Saga of the story. Following Goku, Trunks showed up from the future and showcased his Super Saiyan form when he fought against Frieza on Earth, and after him, Vegeta was the next in line to achieve this power. This happened at some point before the arrival of the Androids and Vegeta unleashed this power against Android 19, much to the surprise of the fans. From there onwards, he continued to improve his power significantly. Vegeta went on to unlock many grades of Super Saiyan, and eventually, by the time of Buu Saga, Vegeta had even unlocked the power of Super Saiyan 2.

I am Super Vegeta! – Vegeta

By this time in the story, Vegeta was easily one of the strongest individuals, strong enough to fight against Goku, although, undoubtedly, second to him, due to the latter having the power of Super Saiyan 3 as well. Surprisingly to the fans, Vegeta never went to unlock Super Saiyan 3. But, he certainly did skip past this level, as was seen in Dragon Ball Super. Vegeta unlockedthe power of Super Saiyan Blue, and, fans even got to see him utilize Super Saiyan God, which, although weaker than Blue, is something that fans mocked Vegeta for not having. In Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Vegeta showed the God transformation, and in the anime and manga, he took things a step ahead by getting Blue Evolution as well.

Kakarot’s body may have a mind of its own, but I’m all about the ego. In fact, go ahead and call it Ultra Ego! – Vegeta

In the manga, Vegeta surpassed all limits and unlocked a new form called Ultra Ego. This Ultra Ego form is Vegeta’s strongest right now, and it is his own answer to Goku’s Ultra Instinct, and undoubtedly one of the mightiest abilities that he has had so far. As is clear, Vegeta is not lacking when it comes to powerful transformations. He has some incredibly mighty forms and undoubtedly, he will go on to unlock even stronger abilities in the future. However, one form that Vegeta never unlocked was Super Saiyan 3. Even though Super Saiyan 3 doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things, due to this form being incredibly taxing in terms of Ki and its power output, Vegeta was still mocked for not having it, despite having stronger transformations.

How Vegeta Failed To Unlock Super Saiyan 3

Vegeta Never Got The Time To Train For Super Saiyan 3

There is no reason as to why Vegeta failed to unlock Super Saiyan 3. After the conclusion of the Cell Saga, Vegeta trained his powers greatly and achieved a completely new level, which goes without saying. But, he did not hit the next form of Super Saiyan like Goku. When Goku returnedduring the Majin Buu Saga, Vegeta was unaware of the fact that Super Saiyan 3 even existed.

In fact, Goku only went on to utilize this power after his battle against Majin Buu, which is once again proof of the fact that Vegeta was unaware of the existence of this form until he went on to witness it after his death. Clearly, Vegeta failed to achieve this transformation on his own, but, that is certainly not a bad thing in its entirety.

Even though Goku invented Super Saiyan 3, the fact is that this transformation isn’t entirely great. It does consume quite a lot of stamina and Ki, and while it is great for a burst of power and short-term battles, in the long run, this form is quite draining and requires the user to have trained countless hours to be utilized properly. That said, it is a major advantage at the end of the day, and something that would have aided Vegeta greatly had he gone on to unlock it.Vegeta saw this transformation for the first timewhen Goku unleashed it against Buu. It was at this point that he was made aware of a new level of Super Saiyan being available for him to utilize.

Of course, then, fans know that there was a massive timeskip following the defeat of Buu, and it is during this timeskip thatDragon Ball Daimais set. Clearly, Vegeta has trained relentlessly ever since and has now even gone on to unlock Super Saiyan 3, as was seen in the latest episode ofDaima.

Vegeta Finally Unlocks Super Saiyan 3 in Dragon Ball Daima

Vegeta’s Super Saiyan 3 Is Unstoppable

As was seen in the latest episode ofDragon Ball Daima, Vegeta is now an official user of Super Saiyan 3. In his battle against Tamagami 2, Vegeta tapped into the Super Saiyan 3 power, and is safe to say that he was unstoppable in combat. Vegeta’s Super Saiyan 3 transformation is slightly different from what fans are used to seeing. Vegeta doesn’t get the extra long hair that runs all the way down to the hip of the user. Both Gotenks and Goku have that kind of transformation. In the case of Vegeta,it appears that the writers have stuck to Toriyama’s original draftof Super Saiyan 3, where his hair certainly does grow, but not too much. Vegeta’s hair looks longer and spikier in Super Saiyan 3, and he certainly does lose his eyebrows as well. However, that is about it.

But, in terms of a power level boost, he gains just as much power as any other user of Super Saiyan 3. Vegeta was unstoppable in this form, and, above all, fans were delighted to see him having achieved a new level that he never went on to reveal inDragon Ball Daima.

It is clear that Vegeta still holds quite a lot of cards up his sleeve that he hasn’t shown to the fans just yet, and asDragon Ball Daimacontinues to explore this character, fans are certain that they will get to see him utilize many other exciting abilities as well. For now,it is safe to say that Vegeta has drawn level with Gokuonce again, and it is only a matter of time before he starts pulling ahead.
