“Winter Tales: Gifts from Above 2024,“Dying Light 2’s Christmas-themed event for this year, is now live, giving players the opportunity to take part in festive activities and collect special rewards for a limited time. The game’s developer, Techland, previously described the last Winter Tales event forDying Light 2as a gift and love letter to its community.
Techland recently released update 1.20 forDying Light 2, which introduced some improvements to the title’s prologue and addressed several issues. Coinciding with the release of this latest update, the studio also announced the return of the Winter Tales event for its popularopen-world zombie survival game.

Dying Light 2players can unlock gear like the Killer Krampus Outfit by completing bounties from special vendor Baka and collecting Christmas decorations during “Winter Tales: Gifts from Above 2024.” Meanwhile, any Winter Sweets gathered throughout the event can be exchanged for other items, including the Skoll, a legendaryslashing weapon inDying Light 2, and the Punisher. This year’s iteration of “Winter Tales” will once again feature the unique boss Uncle Snow and his infected minions, as well as a new zombie type that specializes in attacking from afar called the Ice Spitter.
Holiday-themed Winter Tales Event Returns to Dying Light 2 in 2024
As it is currently the season of giving, allDying Light 2players will be able to claim the Above the Law Bundle for free before “Winter Tales: Gifts from Above 2024” ends on January 2, according to Techland. The set, which includes the Peacekeeper Outfit, two blueprints, and a skin for the paraglider, would usually be available for purchase with DL Points,Dying Light 2’s premium in-game currency.
Techland’s previous update 1.19 featured aHalloween-themed version ofDying Light 2’s Tower Raid, the game mode that turns the first-person shooter into a roguelike. Aside from introducing a new final boss and additional floor types, this rendition of the activity added special playable characters who had unique loadouts and traits. Update 1.19 also delivered bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and various other tweaks.

In August, Techland publicly unveiledDying Light: The Beast, a standalone game that will star the franchise’s original protagonist, Kyle Crane. The upcoming title was supposed to be the second expansion forDying Light 2, but the scope of the project was expanded after a story leak made Techland reevaluate the planned DLC’s narrative. Those who bought the Ultimate Edition ofDying Light 2have been assured that they will receiveDying Light: The Beastat no extra cost.
