There are a lot of weapons to choose from inNieR: Automata, ranging from gimmicky weapons like the Iron Pipe to more powerful weapons like the Type-40 Blade. While a lot of the weapons from this game are unique YoRHa weapons that you’re able to’t find anywhere else, there is one weapon that fans of Square Enix may find familiar.

The Engine Blade can befound in the factory, though you may’t get it during the intro of the game. Instead, you’ll have to wait until you come back later as 2B, and it can be found any time after that. Players can alsouse Chapter Select modeto jumpstraight to Chapter 9when they do return as 2B and get it with only a few minutes of gameplay. You’ll first need to fast travel to or start from the Factory: Hanger access point, which is found part way into the factory.

Coming out of the room the access point is in, follow the path off to the right where you’ll have a 2D camera angle. You’ll first run past a fenced off-section before climbing some broken stairs and getting on a conveyor belt with boxes. The next conveyor belt will have presses that will kill you if you get caught under one when it smashes down. Get across this belt to jump up to thenext cylinder with two spider-like enemies dropping inas you enter.

Take the door to the left of where you enter to climb more stairs with exploding enemies coming down the stairs. When you get halfway there will be a section where therailing stops and the platform will extend toward the camera. Walk toward the camera to change the camera angle and you’ll have another 2D platformer section where you’ll have to jump along the top of the presses following the path to the left. At the end of this will be a final room with three chests inside, with the Engine Blade in the chest off to the left anda locked cheston the right.

Be warned that more exploding enemies will rain from the ceiling once you get close to the chest.

Engine Blade Basic Stats In NieR: Automata

This weapon can be upgraded four times and willeventually get a light combo of 7 attacks, though you’ll need to find Masamune in order to get these upgrades. This weapon also has a fairly low damage spread unlikethe Iron Pipe, making it a better option for those who want to know a better estimate of how much damage they are going to do.
