There are a total of 11 Attributes that characters will be able to strengthen inDragon Quest 11. Each time a character levels up, almost all of their stats will increase in some way, but through the skill tree, you’re able to prioritize other stats dependingon the build you want.

Effects
Max HP
HP stands for health points and is the total damage that a character can take before getting knocked down in combat.
Max MP
MP stands for magic points, which are used every time you cast a spell and use most abilities, in or out of combat.
Attack
The damage done with your weapon through basic attacks or abilities is the combination of your strength and the stats of your equipped weapon. Without the right skill, left-handed attacks will only deal about half damage.
Defense
Determines the reduction in incoming damage from physical attacks, based on the equipped gear’s stats and that character’s resilience.
Determines the amount ofdamage done from spells.
Magical Mending
Determines how strong healing spells are, along with thechances for revival spells to work.
Strength
The base physical prowess of that character that determineshow much damage they can do without a weapon equipped.
The character’s basicoverall resistance to incoming physical damage.
Agility
Determines the order a character will go in combat, with ahigher agility going first. Also increases that character’s chances of dodging incoming attacks.
Deftness
Determines how likely enemies won’t notice your party during the first turn in combat, makes iteasier to flee in combat, determines how easily a charactercan steal items from an enemy, and increases theircritical hit rate but only slightly.
Determines how likely acharm-inducing spell or abilityis to work.
