Summary
The first season ofFalloutproved to be a success for Amazon Prime, seamlessly taking the popular video game franchise from the console to a television format. The show brought in enough nods to the games while also creating fresh and unique ideas that appealed to a wide audience. The cast came together to help create something special that people are now keen to see again.Falloutwas gripping from start to finish, and that’s created a lot ofexcitement ahead of the show’s second season.
Falloutfollowed three lead characters, Lucy, Cooper Howard, and Maximus. The show took inspiration from the video games due to the roles they had in that world. The actors all committed to their parts, which helped create a compelling show. Each episode worked well to develop the story and unveil different mysteries within them, but it wasn’t just the audience that was being surprised.

Walton Goggins, who played Howard/The Ghoul, explained how they were given the scripts. He told a panel hosted byVariety, “We got two episodes. Two episodes were written before we started to understand the tone. And then [the scripts] would dribble out.” He also confirmed that the finale script wasn’t delivered to them until just a few days before filming, with the Amazon Prime team keeping the cast in the dark about what was going to happen.
The situation was slightly different for Aaron Moten, who played Maximus, as he was offered some more information about what was happening. However, as he explained, he rejected that and was just as much in the dark as others. “They tried to tell me some things, and I said, ‘Please don’t!’ Working in television, you have to surrender a little bit, too. Like, I personally, Aaron, doesn’t know what he’s doing tomorrow, exactly, and neither does the character. You sort of have to surrender to that sense of work, that type of schedule, especially with the speed that you have to shoot something the scope of this, you know, you kind of have to be able to ride with it.”
Keeping the actors in the dark about the ending until just before it was filmed was likely done to try and stop any leaks taking place in a bid to keep things as secretive as possible due to the overwhelming interest thatexisted from fans of the franchise. That ended up being beneficial as the ending wasn’t known ahead of time by fans, which meant that audiences were hooked as the final episode took place, with all the twists and turns that came with it.
The first season ofFalloutended with Lucy revealing her father’s big secret, which was unexpected. The interconnected stories all came together in a sense, as the links between the main characters became clear to see as the second season of the show was teased. With the backdrop appearing to be Las Vegas, audiences are expected the next season to takeinspiration fromFallout: New Vegas, but that remains to be seen, as does whether or not the cast knows much information about it.
