According toDeadline,Fallout’s season 2 was set to continue filming in Santa Clarita on Wednesday, January 8, but has now been pushed back to Friday, January 10. The pushback is due to the massive wildfires that broke out on January 7 in Southern California, which has now burned thousands of acres and forced the evacuation of 30,000 people or more. While the wildfires haven’t burned Santa Clarita directly at the time of publication, the area is known for high winds, and all filming in the region has been delayed, including that of other programs likeNCIS.

Will Wildfires Impact Fallout Season 2’s Premiere?

At this time, it’s too soon to tell if the wildfires will have a significant impact onFalloutseason 2reaching viewers. A two-day delay shouldn’t have any real impact, but with the wildfires largely raging out of control at this time, there’s still the potential for them to spread or do damage to the region. The plan to restart filming on Friday could be pushed back further if there’s a threat of danger, in which case the second season could see potential delays. Wildfires have become unfortunately common in California, but this is the first time they’ve had a significant impact onFallout. The series' first season wasn’t filmed there, but reportedly, a $25 million tax credit was offered to entice the show to move its filming to SoCal.

For now, much of what will happen in season 2 ofFalloutremains to be seen. The series left off on a cliffhanger that excited gamers, with a strong likelihood that the second season will be at least partially centered around New Vegas.Macaulay Culkin is also set to join theFalloutcastin the new season in a recurring role, though who his character will be remains to be seen.
