Back in 2022, SNK announced that aFatal Furysequel was in development, filling longtime fans with excitement. After around 26 years,Fatal Fury: City of the Wolvesis set to mark the franchise’s return on July 05, 2025, on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The fighting game will continue the story of the preceding entry in the series, 1999’sGarou: Mark of the Wolves. Over recent months, various fighters—such as Kim Dong Hwan and Mai Shiranui—have been revealed to be part of the forthcomingFatal Furygame’s roster.

In a recently released trailer forFatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Gato has been announced as the newest confirmed addition to the game’s growing catalog of fighters. Starting from quick strikes to theatrical finishers, the clip shows the various moves that the martial artist is set to bring to the game. Voiced by Cory Yee, Gato can be seen wearing a traditional-looking black robe along with dark green pants throughout the video, which is also close to what fans have come to expect based on the character’s past iterations. Joining the lineup inCity of the Wolvesmakes him yetanother martial artist in the newFatal Furybesides Hotaru Futaba.

Gato gets a grand arrival onFatal Fury: City of the Wolves’s roster, thanks to receiving his own trailer for the game. ThereturningFatal Furycharacter, who first appeared inGarou: Mark of the Wolves, is depicted as a vengeful combatant who fights his enemies with his eyes closed in order to sharpen his other senses and movement. Interestingly, Gato has appeared on multiple occasions in SNK’sFatal FuryandThe King of Fightersfranchises.
Besides incorporating fan-favorite characters into the newFatal Fury, SNK has also worked on a certain unexpected collaboration as of late. One of its recent team-ups involved arenowned footballer bringing his likeness toFatal Fury: City of the Wolves. With some more time to go before the fighting title’s launch, it will be interesting to see if the Japanese studio announces more characters coming to the 2025 game.
