With the holidays around the corner, fans had started to wonder when Epic Games would announce the start of the 2024 Winterfest event, and the time has finally come. Winterfest starts on December 20, and it’ll be live until January 7. The event goes live on a Friday, and since updates are very rarely released on days other than Tuesday or Wednesday, it’s likely that it will begin at 9 AM ET, the start time for mostevents inFortnite, rather than immediately after the launch of patch v33.11.

Epic Games has not confirmed the release time of the next update, but it is expected to drop on Wednesday, December 18; this claim is alsosupported by reliableFortniteleaker ShiinaBR. As such, gamers can prepare themselves for downtime to begin around 2:00 AM or 4:00 AM ET and matchmaking to be disabled 30 minutes prior to this, so they aren’t kicked out of the game midmatch.

Update v33.11 will most likely include classic Winterfest weapons such as the Snowball Launcher, a winter wonderland-like landmark, and daily presents.
