ManyFortnitefans have made their voice heard and proclaimed how much they want the “In-Game Shop & Locker UI” button to return to the menu that appears at the end of a match. Even thoughFortniteleft early access in 2020, it continues to receive patches and updates frequently to this very day. Given how active the community is, there is no reason for Epic Games to abandon the Battle Royale or any of the other game modes connected toFortnite.

Summary

While mostupdates bring new content toFortnite, others remove features that have become outdated, given the developers trouble due to unfixable glitches and errors, or simply because it doesn’t make sense it have it in-game anymore. A few years ago, Epic Games added a button to the end-of-match screen that allowed players to visit the Item Shop and their in-game Locker without having to return to the lobby. Most players were quite happy with this addition because, not only did it save them time, but it was also particularly useful for those playing with a team; this way, not everyone in the squad had to return to the lobby so one player could change their outfits or check out the shop.

Unfortunately, the “In-Game Shop & Locker” button wasn’t available for long, as it was constantly getting removed and put back into the game. At some point, it simply never returned and fans accepted that it had been permanently vaulted. Recently, Reddit user TheCatMan612 brought up this topic of conversation in a thread, asking other players if they wanted Epic to bring back the button and most responses were positive, as it is afeature that only improvesFortniteas a game.

What Is the Item Shop & Locker Button in Fortnite?

It is likely that the “In-Game Shop & Locker” button was removed due to its incompatibility with the Cancel Purchase option. For example, if a player quickly visited the Item Shop while waiting for the next game and accidentally purchased and equipped a skin immediately, they would be unable to cancel this purchase without using a Refund Ticket, as it would’ve already been used in-game. This could lead to angry fans demanding more Refund Tickets, causing chaos due to a simplequality-of-life improvement toFortnite.

To solve this matter, Epic Games could add a modified version of the “In-Game Shop & Locker” button, removing the Item Shop aspect of it and simply allowing gamers to visit the in-game locker at the end of the match to switch between owned cosmetic items. This way, they’d only have to leave a match tolook at the Item Shop inFortnite, which is arguably less urgent and could be done once they decided to return to the lobby.
