To illustrate how the gameplay system inFreedom Wars Remasteredworks, Bandai Namco released a new trailer. The video opens by introducing the main character, a Sinner convicted of the crime of being born. Thegame is set in a dystopian worldin which natural resources have been exhausted. The Sinner’s sentence involves undertaking missions to contribute to their Panopticon, or their respective city-state. Missions range from rescuing citizens and destroying Abductors to capturing control systems. These can be completed solo or in online co-op mode.
Freedom Wars Remastered Showcases Its Gameplay Systems
The trailer goes on to highlight the updates introduced inFreedom Wars Remastered. The first improvement is in graphics, which jump from a resolution of 544p to 2160p (4K) for PS5 and PC while maintaining 60 FPS. On PS4, the maximum resolution is 1080p at 60 FPS, whereas the Switch will run at the same resolution but at 30 FPS. TheRPG will feature a faster-paced gameplayexperience compared to the original, thanks to improved design and new mechanics like increased movement speed and the ability to cancel weapon attacks.
The crafting and upgrade systems inFreedom Wars Remasteredhave also been overhauled, now boasting more user-friendly interfaces and attachable/detachable modules at will. A new feature is module synthesis, which allows players to enhance modules with help from the citizens they’ve rescued. Finally, the trailer introduces the Deadly Sinner difficulty mode, aimed at hardcore players, and confirms that all the customization DLC from theFreedom Wars' PS Vita versionwill be available from the start.
