Summary
Genshin Impacthas confirmed the official release date and time for the new Special Program for Version 5.3. Since its release,Genshin Impacthas been hosting livestreams before each update, revealing most of the upcoming content, including regions, characters, and weapons.
Developer HoYoverse has confirmed that Update 5.3 will feature two new five-star units: the long-awaited Mavuika and Citlali. Mavuika has been one of the most anticipated characters in the game since the Natlan region arrived, which is not a big surprise considering she’s known as the Pyro Archon.

Besides showcasing the new characters and weapons in action, another reason players look forward to Special Program events is the opportunity to get free Primogems, as the livestream includes threeGenshin Impactpromotional codes. A new post onGenshin Impact’s official Twitter account revealed that Version 5.3 will be called Incandescent Ode of Resurrection and is scheduled for June 19, 2025, at 7:00 AM (UTC-5). The official art for the program features Mavuika, and players can expect the update to revolve around this Archon, who is expected to be featured in the first banner cycle. Meanwhile, Citlali should get her banner appearance in the second part of the update.
Genshin Impact: 5.3 Special Program Date Confirmed
When it comes to their performance on the field, recentGenshin Impactbeta leakshave revealed that Mavuika will be an offensive unit that can fit into multiple team compositions. At the same time, Citlali is rumored to be a Cryo support. Mavuika’s kit will allow her to serve as either a main or sub-DPS character. Like all other Natlan characters, Mavuika will have the Nightsoul system implemented in her kit.
One of the most unique aspects of her design is the Pyro-infused motorcycle, which can be used to travel the overworld or deal massive amounts of AoE damage. Even though beta testing revealed that Mavuika’s DPS numbers can get quite high, many fans seem disappointed in her overall power, claiming they expected more from the leader of Natlan. Compared topreviousGenshin ImpactArchons, who are known for their flexibility, Mavuika’s kit seems much more restrictive, especially because it requires Nightsoul points to function effectively.

Mavuika should have great synergy with the other five-star character in this update, Citlali, whose kit makes her a strong choice for teams with Pyro DPS units. According to beta data,Citlali’s kit inGenshin Impactwill heavily revolve around her Elemental Skill, which allows her to create a powerful shield, summon a creature called Itzpapa, and deal AoE Cryo damage.
