Summary

A group ofGTA 5modders has grown tired of waiting forGrand Theft Auto 6, so they’ve taken it upon themselves to recreate the game’s map inside of Rockstar’s eleven-year-old title. Thanks to the firstGrand Theft Auto 6trailer in 2023 and the massive leak that took place back in 2022, the community has meticulously laid out plans for what they believe will be an accurate depiction of the game’s map, which has now been used by modders to see what it could look like in-game.

There’s no denying thatGrand Theft Auto 6is one of the most highly-anticipated titles in gaming. With a Fall 2025 release having been set by developer and publisher Rockstar Games, fans are patiently waiting to see more from one of next year’s biggest titles. Grand Theft Auto 5 Modder Recreates GTA 6’s Leonida

AsRockstar remains quiet on any newGTA 6news, a group of modders have taken it upon themselves to recreate some of Vice City inside ofGrand Theft Auto 5. As spotted byEurogamer, YouTuber Dark Space has been working on a recreation of the state of Leonida to give fans an idea of whatGTA 6’s map could actually look like. In their latest YouTube video, they show off Vice Beach, which is filled with real-life Miami buildings that can also be seen in the game’s first official trailer. The YouTuber notes that, despite creating multiple Leonida locations, this is only a tiny percentage of what Rockstar Games will actually be creating. Nevertheless, it’s still massively impressive.

Fans have often attempted to showhow bigGTA 6’s map will be when compared toGTA 5, but Dark Space has given the community probably the best example to date. At 4 minutes and 10 seconds into the YouTuber’s latest video, they compare how long it takes to traverse from the very south of Los Santos inGTA 5to the most northern point while in a helicopter, which takes exactly 3 minutes and 30 seconds. Dark Space also recreated the state of Leonida (without all of the buildings) by using the 2022 leaks to show how much larger the map is going to be. Using the same helicopter, it takes 6 minutes and 10 seconds to get from one side of the map to the other.

Although the map blueprint created by the community is expected to be pretty accurate, it’s important to note that the only official look fans have had atGrand Theft Auto 6’s mapwas in the first trailer, so Dark Space’s recreation (as incredible as it may be) may not be entirely accurate. What Rockstar has revealed is thatGTA 6will be taking fans back to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City, which is set in the fictional state of Leonida. The epic first trailer was filled with nightlife, alligators, and some classicGTAantics that fans have grown to love.
