Arc System Works has announced that the Nintendo Switch version ofGuilty Gear Strivewill add its latest DLC character, Queen Dizzy, for free as part of an upcoming update. 2021’sGuilty Gear Striveis one of Arc System Works' most popular fighting games. Four years after its launch on the PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S consoles,Striveis finally coming to the Nintendo Switch platform in January 2025. The port contains 28 playable characters at launch, which includes the game’s first three seasons of DLC.
The diverse roster ofGuilty Gear Striveis one of the largest in the franchise’s history, including fan favorites like Sol Badguy and Slayer. Both the vanilla version’s story mode and Another Story episode are included in this version as well. While theNintendo Switch version ofGuilty Gear Strivedoesn’t support crossplaywith the other platforms, rollback netcode is installed for players to enjoy relatively stable online battles. Players of the Switch version will also be getting the first character ofStrive’s fourth season for absolutely free.

In a recent post by Arc System Works on its official accounts, it confirms that Queen Dizzy will be added as part of a free content update that will release in February 2025, about a month after the launch of the game on Switch.Queen Dizzy was first added toStriveearlier this Octoberfor all other versions, available to purchase individually for $6.99, or as part of the Season Pass 4 bundle for $24.99. Most fans believe this to be a compromise because of the lack of crossplay and other limitations for the Nintendo Switch version ofStrive.
When is Queen Dizzy Coming to the Nintendo Switch Version of Guilty Gear Strive?
Dizzy is one ofGuilty Gear’s most beloved characters, having made her first appearance inGuilty Gear X. As one of the veterans of the series, her return inStrivewas highly anticipated. She is the Queen of Vialattea, ruling alongside her husband Ky Kiske. To reflect her new title, she has a much more regal appearance inStriveas well.
The second character planned forthe fourth season ofGuilty Gear Strivewill be Venom, another returning fan favorite, who will be added sometime in early 2025. Following Venom will be Unika, a brand-new character many believe will play a role in the upcomingGuilty Gear Strive Dual Rulersanime. The last character is the series' first ever guest fighter, Lucy fromCyberpunk: Edgerunners, an anime tie-in to CD Projekt Red’sCyberpunk 2077game. It’s not stated if the aforementioned remaining characters of Season 4 will also be released for free or if they will be paid DLC for the Nintendo Switch version ofGuilty Gear Strive.
