In this mode, a team of players hides around the map as various props that match other objects in the area. After a brief period, Hunters then look for the players disguised as props to eliminate each of them to earn a victory. The props have some tools in the arsenal, primarily a flash that stuns nearby Hunters, and the ability to change props up to three times. While it’s a rare occurrence, some props can kill their hunter with unique strategies and precise timing.
Reddit user Kaliber_originals recently shared a clip from aBlack Ops 6Prop Hunt match on Payback. The video begins with the player disguised as a storage bin entering a small room that includes gardening equipment next to the greenhouse. While seemingly struggling to decide which corner of the room to hide in, a Hunter spots the moving prop. As theCall of Duty: Black Ops 6Prop HuntHunter approaches, the prop activates a nearby switch to close a door separating the two. This door then closes on the Hunter, causing the player to be eliminated by the prop in a rare strategy that pays off. The clip concludes with the prop leaving the house and hopping over the ledge of a nearby greenhouse.
This Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Prop Dodges a Hunter by Eliminating Them
Given the narrow space of the door frame, thisCall of Duty: Black Ops 6elimination was precisely calculated by the prop. Although the enemy Hunter may have anticipated a flash from the prop, it’s unlikely that they expected to be eliminated by it. As the doorway gave the player a clear line of sight on the prop before the door was closed, they may have avoided death by shooting through the opening. While the prop could have survived this, the door may have been shut without eliminating the Hunter in the process. Beyond Payback, otherBlack Ops 6mapsthat include a control panel-activated door include Protocol, Rewind, Redcard, and Skyline. The same strategy can presumably be used on these doors as well. With how unexpected the elimination is, some players feel that it should be worthy of a challenge Medal or Calling Card.
Although it’s unclear if Treyarch intends for Prop Hunt players to get kills like this, the control panel-activated doors work the same way across the game modes. AsTreyarch continues to updateBlack Ops 6with new maps, weapons, and more, some future maps may also enable eliminations like this.
