Emmy D’Arcy Wants A Sword For Rhaenyra In House Of The Dragon Season 3
In an interview with Josh Horowitz on theHappy Sad Confused podcast,Emma D’Arcy talked candidly about how displeased they were thatRhaenyra Targaryenwasn’t given a sword inHouse of the Dragonseason two. The actor, who has since starred in various stage plays, said that they were fed up with the fact that female members of the Targaryen brood weren’t given weapons to carry around like the male members were. D’Arcy called it “ridiculous” and explained that they don’t care if it’s a sword or a dagger, just as long as they had somewhere to put their hands. They went on to say that they have put a request to showrunner Ryan Condal that this is something they must see as a fixture for Rhaenyra going forward into season three.
In another interview recently, D’Arcy also spoke aboutRhaenyra’s journey inHouse of the Dragon’s season three, saying that the Queen has now finally come into power after two seasons but that they think it will be “quite a different challenge” to embody that kind of confidence.
