Nvidia hasrevealed its lineup of the latest generation RTX 50 series GPUsbased on Blackwell architecture, supported by AI. There are four options for now, starting with the RTX 5070 and going up to the RTX 5090.Nvidiahas claimed significant performance gains over the previous generation, stating that the mid-tier RTX 5070 can deliver the same performance as the top-tier RTX 4090 at a significantly lower cost. These GPUs also bring the latest Deep Learning Super Sampling tech (DLSS 4) that uses AI to boost frame rates without compromising on performance.

Nvidia RTX 50 Series Pricing

The four GPUs in the lineup include theRTX 5070, RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5080, and theRTX 5090. They start off at just $549 and go up to $1999. For now, there is no information on the cheaper RTX 5060 models, but they can be expected to be somewhere in the $350 to $400 range.

Nvidia RTX 5070

Starting with the RTX 5070, it boasts988 AI TOPS(Trillions or Tera Operations per Second) of performance,6144 CUDA cores,12GB GDDR7 VRAM, and a boost clock speed of2.51 GHz(reference model). The mid-tier card that is now said to be as capable as the previous generation performance king, the RTX 4090, has been priced at$549for the reference design.

Board partner cards from brands like ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, ASRock and others can be expected to cost a bit more than that given they will come with more sophisticated cooling options and most likely higher clock speeds.

For reference, theRTX 4070can be found for around $550 to $600 through the various retail channels, but theRTX 4090, which is its true competitor, is significantly more expensive at around $2000 to $2500.

Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti

Next in line is the RTX 5070 Ti with its8960 CUDA cores,1406 AI TOPSof performance,16GB GDDR7VRAM, and a boost clock speed of2.45 GHz. This card is priced at$749and, as per Nvidia’s benchmarks, offers respectable performance improvements over the RTX 5070, somewhat justifying the $200 price gap. But real-world performance testing will paint a clearer picture of if it’s actually better value or if most gamers will be better off sticking with the RTX 5070.

Early last year, Nvidia decided to discontinue the RTX 4070 Ti, likely because of its tricky positioning in the product lineup between the baseRTX 4070and theRTX 4070 Ti Super, in terms of value. The RTX 4070 Ti Super can be found for as low as$840, up to$1500(and more) at the time of writing, so considering the RTX 5070 Ti is even faster than the base RTX 5070, and therefore faster than the RTX 4090, the $749 price tag seems quite cheap.

Nvidia RTX 5080

With its10752 CUDA cores,1801 AI TOPSperformance,16GB GDDR7VRAM, and2.62 GHzboost clock speed, the RTX 5080 is a monster. It can chew through games at 4K and still deliver a high FPS experience which works perfectly with the new generation of 4K 240Hz gaming monitors coming out now. It is priced at$999, so it’s going to be a hefty investment, but that will last for years to come.

Along with the RTX 4070 Ti, Nvidia also discontinued the RTX 4080, pushing forward theRTX 4080 Superas the ideal GPU for those who want to game at 4K. For now, there is no RTX 5080 Super in sight, but it will very likely be added to the portfolio down the line.

Nvidia RTX 5090

Standing on top is the RTX 5090, the fastest consumer-grade GPU you will be able to buy, and that title comes with a hefty price tag of$1999. For that price, you get21760 CUDA cores,3352 AI TOPSperformance,32GB GDDR7VRAM, and2.41 GHzboost clock speed.

This is even more VRAM than the RTX 4090, giving the RTX 5090 a significant performance boost which will be the end-game GPU for enthusiasts. At nearly $2000, not everyone will be able to benefit from this offering, but considering the RTX 4090 is about the same, if not higher, it puts the RTX 5090 at better value.

Nvidia RTX 50 Series Availability

Nvidia is once again staggering the launch of the RTX 50 series GPUs, with the top-tier RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 launching onJanuary 30. Expect listings from board partners at various retailers around that date. The RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 will join the rest a bit later inFebruary. There isn’t an exact date just yet, but more information can be expected in the coming weeks.
