Once players make their way into thehidden entrance underneath the Fountain of ConfessioninIndiana Jones and The Great Circle, they’ll need to face two trials by fire, literally. After getting past the swinging blades in the Chamber of Tribulations, you’ll enter the Monastery Courtyard, which requires you to pass the Silver and Gold Trial to proceed forward.
The Gold Trial is rather tricky as there aren’t many hints to help players pass through the test unscathed. Only after trial and error can you grasp the mechanics of the trial and complete it successfully. That is if your health doesn’t deplete first.
How to Complete the Gold Path Trial in Indiana Jones and The Great Circle
After entering the Monastery Courtyard, head upstairs to the deck andpull the lever to the rightto start the “Gold Path Trial” inIndiana Jones and The Great Circle. Doing so will activate the golden dragon statue on the right to lift its shield, opening a pathway to the trial.
However, there’s something you need to do before accessing the Gold Path Trial’s room.
Unlock the Gold Path Trial Room
On the way to the trial room, players will notice that the entrance is locked, and they’ll have to figure out a way to unlock it. To unlock the Gold Path Trial room, look towards the left of the area tofind a small hole in the wall. Go inside the wall to enter a small room with a pressure plate.
Look towards the right side of the hole to find a bust sitting along the wall. Pick it up and place it on the pressure plate to unlock the doors. Exit into the main hallway through the hole again andhead forward through the newly opened entranceleading to the Gold Path Trial.
Before heading into the trial room, make sure to head left into a small room right after exiting through the hole tograb a secret artifact.
Align the Furnaces
Once you enter the trial room, head forward till you reach a lever at the end.Don’t pull the lever just yetas it’ll burn Indy due to the intensity of heat being high. Make your way towards the left side of the lever to enter a hallway with chains.
You’ll need to pull the chains to reposition the furnace over the correct spot andreduce the heat intensity under the lever. Simply grab the chain and keep adjusting the furnace until the area underneath it glows with heat. Once you’re done with the first, repeat the process with the second one.
The optimal position for the first furnace is closest to the player, while the second one should be positioned to the second last one (away from Indy).
Complete the Gold Path Trial
Once you’ve successfully repositioned the furnaces to their correct spot, interact with the lever to open the door and exit the room. This will markthe Gold Path Trial as completeinIndiana Jones and The Great Circle.
Although this will complete the Gold Path Trial for most, there’s more to the Gold Path Trial, as players will need to reposition the other two furnaces on the other side. To do that, you’ll need to arrive at the center of the furnace room, use your bullwhip to climb up, and grab the ledge of the top of one of the furnaces. This will let Gina help you reach the other side to reposition the two furnaces on the right side.
Keep heading forward till you reach a platform with a chain hanging in the middle of it. Pull the chain to bring up some statues holding bowls of fire. After that, exit out of the room and notice the magma gathering in the forge to the right. Use your bullwhip on the forge to release the water over the mold andgrab the Golden Key, which can be used on the Ornamented door.
If you’ve alreadycompleted the Silver Path Trial, the Ornamented Door will open, allowing Indy to progress forward into the main mission.
