After what felt like an eternity of waiting and speculating, drivable vehicles have finally been added toHelldivers 2. As of theOmens ofTyrannyupdate, players can find and use the Fast Recon Vehicle (FRV), a lightly-armored scout car designed to give squads significantly increased mobility on missions.
While the FRV isn’t the only major addition to the game inOmens of Tyranny, it’s definitely up there as one of the most requested features among community members. However, there’s a bit of a caveat when it comes to getting an FRV at the moment — it’s not quite ready to replacethe best stratagems forHelldivers 2just yet, but everyone can get a jeep for free if they know where to look.

How to Get The Jeep in Helldivers 2
As of writing, the Fast Recon Vehicle (or just the Jeep, as referred to by most players),can only be found on maps, not dropped as stratagems. Players can find them easily byopening the map and looking for the FRV icon. They’re typically visible as soon as your first landing, so if you want to make the most out of them during your mission, spot one for the team and head there as soon as you can.
While it’s yet to be confirmed, it’s very likely that the FRV inHelldivers 2will become a deployable stratagem, much like the Exosuits. The PS Blog post for theOmens of Tyrannyupdate states that players will get their own drivable jeepif they keep following the upcoming Major Orders. If that’s the case, then it’s likely that the Fast Recon Vehicle will get added to catalog inthe ship modules terminal(or added to the arsenal for free).

Is The FRV Any Good?
So far,the Fast Recon Vehicle’s best use really is just for transportation. It has space for everyone in the squad, and whoever’s on the backseat will get to use the HMG turret bolted onto the jeep. This HMG works much like the handheld ones that Helldivers can call down — it handles slowly, and even though it’s attached to a turret, it still kicks very hard, making it inaccurate.
On the bright side, passengers can use whatever weapons they have by leaning out the windows and firing at enemies. Hitting enemies while in a moving vehicle will naturally be hard, but a weapon likethe Commando inHelldivers 2should be able to skirt around that issue with its laser-guided missiles. Explosives and Arc weapons are great since you don’t need to aim much with them, and energy weapons like the Sickle and Laser Cannon are pretty good too since you don’t have to worry about ammo.

Keep in mind thatthe FRV can be destroyed by incoming fire. If it takes too much damage, it will explode. If the wheels get hit, the tires will pop off, making the vehicle harder to use. Worst of all, the three passengers are all vulnerable to each other’s weapons while firing.
