Getting the Mothwing Cloak is rather easy. First, you must have already unlocked the Greenpath area, which can be accessed through the Forgotten Crossroads. Once you’re in the area and have purchased the map from Cornifer, go to the bench marked by the red circle in the image above to rest. From there, follow the path marked in red until you reach the large green circle.
Along the way, you’ll come across a few challenging enemies called Moss Knights. Defeating the first one you encounter is mandatory, but the rest are optional, so if you don’t want the hassle, you can simply skip them. Once you reach the designated area, you’ll have to face Hornet, who’s not a terribly challenging opponent, even this early in the game. However, if you’re struggling with her, see if you canget enough Mask Shardsto increase the number of hits you can take. While you have to kill other bosses that you face throughout your journey, this is not the case for Hornet, who upon defeat, will flee using her weapon. When you beat her, you’ll receive the Mothwing Cloak, allowing you to dash everywhere and reach new places.

For starters, this ability is necessary to reach certain areas of the game that lead to a few bosses, valuable items, and other abilities. Moreover, the Dash ability also comes in really handy during combat, as it allows you to quickly get out of the way of incoming attacks and also get to your enemies faster to deal a few devastating blows. This is especially useful against bosses that leave little to no window of opportunity to strike at them.
