Dragon Quest 3 Remakefeatures so many Items and pieces of Equipment, choosing which to pursue can be overwhelming. In this guide, we’ll aim to make it slightly easier by helping you acquire one of the game’s best items: theSage’s Stone. This unique item allows you to heal your party without using any MP, and will be increasingly helpful, especially in the late-and-post-game sections. There are at least two methods ofgetting the Sage’s Stone inDragon Quest 3 Remake, and though both are late in the game, it is absolutely still worth it.

How to Get the First Sage’s Stone in Dragon Quest 3 Remake

Both methods of acquiring theSage’s Stoneoccur very late inDragon Quest 3 Remake. The first is found inZoma’s Citadel, not long before the end of the story, and the second is found inCloudsgate Citadel, a hub area encountered relatively early in the post-game.

Reach Zoma’s Citadel:

Zoma’s Citadelis the last dungeon in the main story, and as such will take a considerable amount of time to reach. Once you enter Alefgard after taking down Baramos, the main thrust of your mission will be to collect the items that create the bridge to Zoma’s Citadel.

You’ll need the following items to enter Zoma’s Citadel:

Once you have these items, you’ll be prompted to create the Rainbow Bridge that leads to the citadel. The main path to the dungeon is not complicated; you’ll be able to follow the path and enter the citadel grounds fairly easily once you cross the bridge.

Locating the Sage’s Stone in Zoma’s Citadel:

The goal once you enterZoma’s Citadelis to reach levelB4. While the citadel is filled with high-level monsters that can prove challenging if you are not properly leveled, there are only two sections of the dungeon leading up to B4 that can prove to be tricky.

Some players may have a tough time figuring out how to exit B1. What you’ll need to do is approach the back of Zoma’s throne, which sits at the northern end of B1. Make sure to usetheSafe Passagespellwhen you approach the throne, or you’ll take constant damage from theelectrified floor. Stand behind the throne and use the ‘Interact’ prompt when it appears to reveal a secret stair set that descends to B2.

The second tricky area is thearrow tiles on B2. These tiles can be incredibly frustrating if you don’t take the time to figure them out. In this section, no matter which may you’re standing, think of the tiles as being relative to north and south. Pressing the direction of the blue arrow will always send you north, pressing the yellow tiles will send you south, no matter which way you are facing. When the arrows are Blue-Yellow, down will send you east (right), up will send you west (left). When the tiles are opposite, Yellow - Blue, down will send you west and up will send you east.

When you reachB4, check the map and you’ll see three locked chambers. In the center chamber, you’ll find six treasure chests. There are two chests in the center, with the first Sage’s Stone in the chest on the right.

How to Get the Second Sage’s Stone in Dragon Quest 3 Remake

After defeating Zoma, there is an extensive post-game section that begins with an ascent to the heavens from theChurch of the Dragon Queen. This region is labeled as???and is a long journey through several previously-visited dungeons. At the end of the path, you’ll reachCloudsgate Citadel. While there are several things to do at the citadel, to get the second Sage’s Stone, you’ll have to find the NPC Bard who will present three riddles. Solving the third riddle will earn you the second Sage’s Stone.

Cloudsgate Citadel Riddles:

The Bard you must speak to is located in the chamber directly to the east of the King. Speak to the NPC Bard to hear the first riddle.

Now that you haveboth Sage’s Stones, make sure you put each stone into a different party member’s personal inventory. You canuse the Sage’s Stone as an item during combat, so they must be carried by a party member.
