Nanako and Dojima’s social links are some of the best ones inPersona 4 Golden, and while you’re able to start them without any Expression requirements, you’ll later need to max it out to see the end of both stories. On top of these social links, Expression can be ranked up to get you more money from certain part-time jobs.

Help Friends In Class
Sometimes, the protagonist won’t be called on by a teacher but insteadone of your friendswill be. They will then ask for help, letting you answer the question.If you get the question right, you’ll get a point in Expressioninstead of Knowledge. It’s highly recommended you use a guide to always get these questions correct as they are free social stat points.
Part-Time Jobs
On4/23 you’ll get access to the Translator Job, which can be done at your desk in your room. Your pay for this job will also be determined by your current Expression rank. As you progress through the game, you’ll getaccess to the Tutoring job on 5/25, though this job requires Rank 5 Understanding to begin. The Tutoring job will also double as a new social link, making it a worthwhile way of increasing Expression.
Reading theEnglish Made Easybook will increase how much Expression you get from translating.
Going To Your Cultural Club
On4/25 you’ll get to choose which Culture Club you want to join. If you join band you’ll begin a social link with Ayane and joining the Drama club will begin a social link with Yumi. Both social links arethe Sun social link, just with alternative stories. Attending either club and advancing the social link will also give you points in Expression.
Spend Time With The Cat
After completing Quest #20, the cat will randomly appear when it’s not raining outside of the Dojima residence. Spending time with the cat will give you points in Expression and Understanding.
Reading Books
There are multiple books that can be read that increase your Expression. Books are purchased from the bookstore in the Central Shopping District and can be read at the couch in your room. The following books increase your Expression:
