Path of Exile 2’s large world is split up into various areas that you may travel between and explore. Each area is randomly generated into Instances, which disappear every few minutes, forcing you to explore new areas every time you play.
Whileexploration can be rewarding, many quests will have you jumping around between far-away areas, and that’s where fast travel comes in. Players can also travel back to town whenever they need to, here’s how to do both.

How To Fast Travel In Path of Exile 2
Fast traveling canonly be done from one waypoint to another. Every area you travel to will have a waypoint, usually found towards the entrance to that area. By interacting with a waypoint, you’ll open up the Acts map and be able to switch between the various areas you’ve already discovered waypoints in and travel to them. Fast traveling is instant, costs nothing, and can be done as often as you’d like.
Discovering a waypoint for the first time will alsorefill all your current potion charges.

Whenever you fast-travel to an area, if anInstance already existsthereyou’ll be teleported into that existing Instance. If no Instance currently exists, one will be made when you fast travel and will stay active for the usual amount of time before disappearing.
How To Return To Town Anywhere In Path of Exile 2
Another method of fast traveling is using the Town Portal, though it works differently than waypoints. To use the town portal you’ll first need to equip the skill:
This skill has a short cast time but costs nothing to do. Once it is cast, a Town Portal will appear wherever you are standing, and interacting with it will immediately have you return to town. Back in town, you’ll walk through a similar portal that appears next to the main waypoint. You caninteract with that same portal again to return to the spot of where you cast the skill, though this will then make the portal disappear and need to be recast in order to return to town again.

Unlike waypoints, Town Portals can only be used once back and forth though there are no restrictions on where or when you can use them. While they do disappear, they can be immediately recastif you’d like, letting you get back to town whenever and wherever you want.
