InDragon Age: The Veilguard,crafting is a bit different. Instead of using intricate recipes that require a lot of hard-to-get ingredients, players need to visit the Caretaker’s Workshop to upgrade their equipment. There’s no creating items from scratch. The only thing players may need to worry about is keeping the workshop upgraded.
While they’re out exploring, they should also look for copies of their favorite weapons, as this unlocks the rarer perks. In the early stages of the game, resources are plentiful, making it seem like they’ll never run out. However, as the story progresses, upgrades cost more, and careful decisions are more important. Whether they’ve chosen to be a Mage, Warrior, or Rogue, players should prioritize crafting these items.
1Crystalline Greataxe
Dishes Out Cold Damage
The Crystalline Greataxe is a greatearly-game weapon for the Warrior, which means it should be on players' radar to upgrade as soon as possible. Instead of Physical damage, it offers Cold damage. As its rarity increases, Necrosis will also be applied to its base damage, so upgrading it as frequently as possible will allow players to capitalize on this benefit.
One of the easiest ways to find this weapon is during “The Missing Relic” quest. As players follow Neve Gallus through the streets of Minrathous, there is a Blacksmith between the shops they must visit.
2Skirmisher’s Round
A Great Shield-Toss Option
The Skirmisher’s Round is an ideal weapon for players who want a Shield-Toss build. Players will want to keep up with crafting this weapon’s upgrades at the Caretaker’s Workshop to ensure they get the most from its perks as they become unlocked. As this weapon increases in rarity, players will get a boost in Ranged attack and later, increased Weakpoint damage with increased Stagger.
Players can find this Targe in a chest during the “In Entropy’s Grasp” quest. They can also purchase it from the Veil Jumpers Faction Shop once it reaches Rank 2. Three more copies are available in later quests.
3Dark Shard
Great Early-Game Reaper Sword
For players who want to develop a Reaper build, the Dark Shard is a perfect early-game option. It delivers Necrotic damage, which this Specialization focuses on. As the weapon’s perks are unlocked, players will benefit from greater Necrotic damage and increased Necrotic Resistance.
This weapon can be found in a chest during the “Sea of Blood” quest. Another copy can be found in the Arlathan Forest in the Riverside Ruins. One more copy can be found during the “How to Train a Griffon” quest in a marked chest.
4Weisshaupt’s Wail
Excellent Light Damage
Weisshaupt’s Wail is highly favored by the Grey Wardens and is an ideal starting weapon for the Rogue. It deals a decent amount of Physical damage and Stagger. Because of this, players will want to maximize these stats by updating this weapon regularly.
This Broadsword can be found at the Grey Wardens Faction Shop. It’s a worthwhile investment for that first purchase and every upgrade thereafter. Later, additional copies can be found in the High Anderfels and during “The Siege of Weisshaupt” quest.
5Dragon’s War Bow
Ranged Fire And Electric Damage
Players who need aboost to their Rogue’s Ranged attacksshould consider the Dragon’s War Bow. It deals incredible Fire damage and high Stagger. When its perks are unlocked, it also deals Electric damage. Anyone using this Bow should make it a priority to upgrade it as often as possible.
This bow can be found in a marked chest during the “The Warden’s Vault” quest. It’s also sold by Alis in Dock Town and at the Rank 4 Shadow Dragons Faction Vendor.
6Antivan Rapier
Extreme Necrotic Damage And Stagger
The Antivan Rapier is a wise choice for players interested in a Duelist or Saboteur Specialization. For the Duelist, it offers incredible Necrotic damage, andfor the Saboteur, the Stagger is out of this world. Players should upgrade this weapon as soon as the workshop becomes available.
It can be found at the Rank 2 Antivan Crows Faction Shop. There’s another copy in the Streets of Coin Financials in a chest. Two more copies can be found during the “Bloodbath” and “A Slow Poison” quests.
7Defiant Silence
Defense With A Critical Boost
Getting the right armor is always important. But it never hurts when that armor boosts the protagonist’s Critical damage. The Defiant Silence Helm does just that. In addition to providing moderate defense, it enhances Critical damage and Stagger as its perks are unlocked. Players should take advantage of its stats by upgrading it as soon as they can.
Defiant Silence can be found during the “Sea of Blood” quest. Players can also find a copy while exploring the Ancient Aqueduct in the Arlathan Forest. If they get the Shadow Dragons Faction Shop to Rank 2, players can also buy it there. If this opportunity is missed, the Helm can be purchased from a Wisp-Merchant in the Crossroads tied to the Faction.

Boosted Primer Effects
When players choose a Mage build, it can be risky since this protagonist focuses on dealing elemental damage and most enemies are resistant.This Armor helps Rooktake advantage of Primers. Weakened and Sundered enemies can be damaged more with spells when they’re Primed for Detonation, making the Mage even more effective.
This armor can be found in chests in Arlathan Forest and the Crossroads. It’s a worthwhile piece to invest in upgrading, as it also offers a decent boost to Ability damage.
9Twist Of The Veil

Some of the most trying enemies in the game are those with armor. Mages who use the Twist of the Veil Mageknife can get one up on these enemies from its enhanced damage against armor-wearing foes. This weapon also offers decent Physical Damage and Stagger,making it a great weaponto upgrade as soon as possible.
Players can obtain Twist of the Veil from the Rank 1 Veil Jumpers Faction Shop. It’s also available in the Crossroads and Arlathan Forest maps. One more copy can be found during the “House of the Dead” quest.
10Timeworn Mageknife
Enhanced Arcane Bomb Effects
The Timeworn Mageknife is a highly versatile weapon that Mages will likely want to use throughout the entire game. It packs a punch when it comes to Physical Damage and Stagger and builds Arcane Bomb damage. Boosting the stats on this weapon with regular upgrades will make Rook indomitable in melee combat.
This weapon can be found in several chests throughout Treviso, Arlathan Forest, and the Crossroads. In addition, players can also buy it from a weapons vendor in the Treviso Canals Market.
