Can The Anaconda Reboot Revive the Franchise?
The Anaconda film will be the first in the franchise in ten years, with the last being theLake Placid vs Anacondacrossover in 2015. The originalAnacondafilm scored just 41% with critics on Rotten Tomatoes and was nominated for six Razzie awards. The sequelThe Hunt for the Blood Orchidgained even less with critics at 26%. Given that theAnacondareboot seems to be aiming for a more comedic take on the franchise, with two of Hollywood’s biggest comedy stars at the forefront, the film has a decent chance to overcome the negative bias of its predecessors.
