In fact, Gojo single-handedly pushed Yuji’s execution back, and that went to show that the power he wielded was absolutely immense. At the same time, Gojo working with Jujutsu High certainly meant that he was paid well, especially being a mighty Sorcerer who would be sent on the most difficult tasks. If that wasn’t enough, fans know that the family Gojo belonged to one of the three big families and that he was actuallythe head of the Gojo Clan. This meant he was always going to be incredibly rich. As to how rich Gojo truly is, It was only recently that the author ofJJK, Gege Akutami, finally revealed the answer to the fans and it has surprised quite a lot of people. He receives a monthly salary, so he doesn’t receive his salary as a one-time payment. Mei Mei is an exception. As a Special Grade sorcerer, he probably earns a salary comparable to that of a minister. Additionally, as the head of the Gojo family, he has considerable assets from that as well. In any case, Gojo is rich. – Gege Akutami
As is clear from Gege’s statement, Gojo makes quite a ton of money. Comparing his salary to that of a Cabinet Minister of Japan back in 2018, Gojo should be making anywhere between 200 to 300K. This amount could be even higher in 2024, and that just goes to show that Gojo could essentially live a very lavish life with ease.
That said, Gojo’s job isn’t easy at all. Gojo doesn’t actually get much rest, and his day is incredibly hectic, with only a few hours of off time that he gets to himself. For the amount of work that Gojo puts in, even getting as much money as he does is not enough.

As mentioned by Gege himself, Gojo owns as much money as a Cabinet Minister in Japan, and to just put things into perspective in regards to how rich Gojo is, Gege told fans that Gojo never actually checks the price tag of the things that he buys. This is simply becauseGojo doesn’t care about the price tagas it doesn’t affect him much. Of course, that is not to say that Gojo is a billionaire. However, the amount of money that he makes is enough for him to feed into his lavish desires. At the same time, it also goes to show that Gojo isn’t calculating when it comes to money. Gojo is a spendthrift and he gets everything that he loves for himself and doesn’t even bother checking how expensive things are. If Gojo likes something, chances are that he will buy it as soon as he can, and thanks to his great salary, he isn’t limited in any way.
This is the kind of carefree personality that fans admire about him and is one of the major reasons why he is as loved as he is. Of course, fans rarely get to see the day-to-day life of JJK characters, but whenever they have been given the chance to see it, Gojo has always been incredibly exciting and fun to watch. Gege revealing these intriguing bits of information about Gojo just goes to show that he is truly one of his favorite characters and that his importance to the overarching plot ofJJKis absolutely immense.
Gojo Holds A Lot Of Political Power As Well
Gojo Is More Than Just Rich
While fans know that Gojo is incredibly rich, at the same time, his political influence is massive as well.Gojo essentially runs the worldofJJKin a way. As put by Gojo himself at the beginning of the series, if he wanted to, he could kill everyone in the Jujutsu hierarchy and no one could do anything about it. But, that was not the way he wanted to do things, at least at the beginning, and this is why Gojo wanted to lead a peaceful revolution. Gojo certainly succeeded in raising some incredibly powerful students, and in the grand scheme of things, his idea of changing the world truly worked.
Despite Gojo being just a Jujutsu teacher, his influence in the political world is absolutely immense. Gojo can freely make massive decisions, or go against the decisions of those who run the world. This was clearly seen when he prevented the execution ofthe likes of Yuta Okkotsu, and later down the line, Yuji as well. If that wasn’t enough, fans should also keep in mind that Gojo is the head of the Gojo Clan, and that as one of the leaders of the big three families, he is easily one of the most powerful people in the entire world.
Gojo’s influence is such that those around him simply follow him, even when they’re higher in authority than him. Gojo doesn’t take commands from anyone and does what he wills. In many ways,Gojo is the freest character in JJKand despite him being immature at times, he’s certainly one of the most beloved individuals in the franchise.
If Gojo wanted to seize power, he could have had it all. There is absolutely no one in the world of JJK who would have been capable of stopping him. Thankfully for everyone, Gojo was not a sinister villain but a goofy teacher with a big heart and a lot of money instead.
