Jujutsu Kaisenended recently and this month was extremely special for the fans since the final volume of the series was released in Japan officially. With the final volume, fans also got a new epilogue chapter, which was 16 pages long, and elaborated upon the life of various characters, as well as revealing the secrets of many others. The epilogue focused on multiple characters, and Gege wrote mini plots intothis covering the lives of Ozawa, Panda, Nobara, and Uraume.
These characters were incredibly exciting for the fans to watch, and while all of them had interesting stories to tell, the most shocking of all epilogues was that of Panda. This epilogue gave fans quite a lot of information pertaining to Yuta Okkotsu, even though he did not show up in the epilogue himself. As always, Yuta is connected to none other than Rika, and fans also found out quite a lot of exciting information about her.
Rika And Yuta In JJK
Throughout the run ofJujutsu Kaisen, fans got to see Rika be extremely important. Gege wrote his Rika early on in his Yuta story, which was later adapted into JJK 0, where fans got to see her true power and what she could do against enemies even as strong as Suguru. Throughout JJK, Rika’s strength was prominent, but what was most important to the fans was the fact that Rika shared a special relationship with Yuta. Their bond was that of love, and together, they were incredibly difficult to beat. Even a powerful sorcerer such as Suguru could not stand up to their might and collapsed, despite beinga talent once compared to Gojo himself. With time, these two were bound to get even stronger, and they certainly did. By the beginning ofJJK, Yuta was a threat labeled to be the next Gojo, and much of that was down to his bond with Rika.

Rika and Yuta combined brilliantly throughout the many fights that they took part in, including the Culling Game, and later down the line, the Shinjuku Showdown as well. In the Shinjuku Showdown, fans saw them combine brilliantly, and even battle against the likes of Sukuna. Fans even got quite a lot of scares in regards to these two, especially at the very end of the story, when Yuta switched bodies with Gojo. Rika was seen shedding tears for him, and in the end, was the only reason why Yuta is alive today. In the end, both Rika and Yuta ended up getting a very good ending, and fans could clearly see that their bond was unbreakable. Together, they were only bound to grow even stronger, and in the JJK epilogue, it appears that that ended up happening, after all.
How Yuta Passed On Rika In The Future
Yuta Gave His Ring To His Granddaughter
Fans always believed Yuta and Rika to be inseparable. While they might still hold a very special relationship, the epilogue ofJJKessentially gave fans the idea that Rika is now in possession of someone else. Essentially, Yuta and Rika share a bond through the ring, and as fans know, the former puts it on when he has to access her full power. This ring is currently in possession of someone else entirely. For those who do not know, JJK’s epilogue is actually set 62 years into the future, where Yuta is an old man. He is revealed to have two grandchildren, and it is believed that at some point, he ended up having kids with Maki. Yuta’s grandchildren are quite young, and both of them resemble him in some way. It can be said that only his granddaughter, who appears to be the younger sibling, is the one who resembles him the most. His grandson looks quite a lot like Maki and Megumi.

Regardless, what is key here is the fact that Yuta’s granddaughter seems to be wearingthe same necklace that Yuta used to wear once. The necklace has the ring that Yuta used to wear, and this might mean that Yuta ended up entrusting Rika to none other than his granddaughter at some point.
This has massive implications for the future ofJJK. It could mean that once Yuta had his own kid, he passed on the ring to them, and when the kid had their own kid, the ring was eventually passed down. Essentially, Rika could have become something to pass down the family line, and as fans know, Rika would’ve rejoiced in this decision as well. If Yuta would be happy to pass Rika on to his child, and later down the line, his grandchild, then Rika would have no complaints either.
This also adds a certain level of depth to Rika’s bond with Yuta and his family. Essentially, whereas Rika was once the protector of Yuta, she then went on to become the protector of Yuta and Maki’s child, and eventually, their grandchild.
Does Rika Have An Elaborate Role In JJK?
Rika Is Still Very Important In The World Of JJK
It is clear to see that Rika has a very massive role to play in the future ofJJK, if it ever continues. The image thatGege is portraying here is clearly one of a protector for Rika. But, now, Yuta does not need her protection. The ones who matter to Yuta right now are his grandchildren, which means that Rika is now tasked with their protection. Gege seems to be implying that Rika has a new user now, and just as Yuta used to utilize the power of Rika, now, his granddaughter could have access to the same power.
By putting on the ring,Rika could manifest fully and combine with the grandchild, giving her access to the Copy technique, and possibly other abilities as well. This could essentially go on to make Yuta’s technique an Inherited one, such as the 10 Shadows, among others. This would also add an interesting twist to the story, and allow Rika to carry Yuta’s legacy forever. It is also a heartwarming touch to see Rika protecting Yuta’s legacy, and forever standing by their side.
Fans couldn’t have askedfor a better ending for Rika, and hopefully, they get to see more of her ifJJKever continues. For now, the author does not seem to have any elaborate plans on continuing the story, but he does hope that he meetsJJKfans again someday, which, in other words, means that the hope for another one-shot isn’t entirely deadly just yet. Fans would absolutely love a continuation, especially if it was set in the year 2080, when the vast majority of the characters are old, and a new generation is on the rise. Given the skill that Gege possesses, he could go on to write an absolutely brilliant sequel, or even just provide fans with a glimpse or two of their beloved characters into old age.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s Epilogue was released with its Final Volume. JJK’s Final volume is out in Japan on August 01, 2025. The English version of the Volume will be published at some point in 2025.
