Got some great news for all you DC fans in the house!LEGOis starting 2025 with a compelling wave of DC Comics sets that should attract the attention of both die hard DC collectors and your more casual builders. The January lineup is headlined by the first-ever minifigure of Aaron Eckhart’s Two-Face from The Dark Knight, packaged with a redesigned Tumbler that emphasizes play features over scale. We also have two other really interesting sets for you to check out.
What makes this wave particularly interesting is its departure from LEGO’s recent Batman-centric DC lineup. With the inclusion of their first Superman set since 2020, this release could mean there’s a possible broader vision in the works for the LEGO DC universe moving forward. Who knows, LEGO might finally be ready to explore more of DC’s rich character roster beyond the confines of Gotham City.
The Tumbler vs. Two-Face & The Joker (76303)
The centerpiece of this wave isthe 429-piece Tumbler set, and let’s be real, it’s all about that Two-Face minifigure. LEGO has absolutely nailed the likeness of Aaron Eckhart’s character from The Dark Knight, capturing every detail of the film’s practical effects. The scarring extends from the minifigure’s head down to the torso print, creating what’s bound to become a must-have for DC minifigure collectors. Rounding out the minifigure selection are new versions of Batman and The Joker, both sporting pristine printing that perfectly captures their Dark Knight trilogy appearances.
The Tumbler itself takes an interesting new direction. While it’s noticeably smaller than previous incarnations, LEGO has packed it with features that were missing from larger versions. The cockpit now opens fully and properly fits the Batman minifigure with room for his cape, a small but significant improvement for display and play. The redesigned rear end sports a removable flame element that plugs directly into the tailpipe, while the brick-built Bat-Signal features complete 360-degree rotation on both vertical and horizontal axes. This set is going for $60, and at this price, you’re paying for innovation over size.
Superman Mech vs. Lex Luthor (76302)
The 120-piece Superman setmight raise some eyebrows at first - the Man of Steel in a mech suit? But this fresh take on the classic Superman-Luthor rivalry actually makes perfect sense. The Superman minifigure comes decked out with premium features you’d typically only find in larger sets, including a fabric cape and a reversible head featuring different expressions. Lex Luthor hasn’t been shortchanged either, showing up with both a stud shooter anda translucent green Kryptonite crystalthat explains exactly why Superman might need some mechanical backup.
For a $15 set, the mech’s engineering is impressive. The articulation is almost as good as what you would find on larger sets, with ball-jointed shoulders, hips, and ankles providing a full range of motion. Even the fingers are individually articulated, allowing for dynamic poses. The torso features a clean-opening cockpit that fits Superman perfectly, and the dual adjustable thrusters on the back let you create some seriously cool flight displays.
Batman & Batmobile vs. Mr. Freeze (76301)
This 63-piece entry in LEGO’s 4+ linegives off a sophisticated vibe with a nice, simple framework. The Batmobile incorporates the Starter Brick system while maintaining its distinctive profile, creating an accessible build that doesn’t sacrifice style. The set is going for $20 and has a nice selection of play features that add to the appeal.
The accessory collection includes Batman’s Batarang, as well as Mr. Freeze’s ice shooter, which, by the way, comes with some cool translucent blue elements and a non-projectile ice blaster. You can also attach two ice diamond elements to different points on the Batmobile.
Whether you’re Team Batman or Team Superman, looks like LEGO’s kicking off 2025 with something for everyone!
