Despite theimpressive sales ofLords of the Fallenimmediately following its release in October 2023, the title has seen its fair share of criticism, with some frustrated by its high difficulty and poor performance on PC. The development team at Hexworks has released a steady stream of patches and updates to tweak the game, with November’s 1.6 update adding PlayStation 5 Pro support and a more helpful tutorial for newcomers to the title. Bug fixes and performance improvements continue to trickle in, and a new update is addressing some issues players have noted with the fantasy action RPG.

In the more hefty 1.7 update forLords of the Fallenreleased on December 12, some often requested quality-of-life features were introduced to theopen-world dark fantasy game, including an option to control whether consumables picked up while exploring are added to the Quick Access bar or not. The range of enemy attacks was also tweaked, with the development team explaining that they were committed to making combat inLords of the Fallenfeel fair, while also maintaining a certain level of difficulty and challenge. Many players were also happy to see that stamina depletion had been recalibrated, allowing for more fluid character control both while exploring and in combat.
In October, CI Games announced thata sequel toLords of the Fallenwas in full production, with a release date planned for 2026. According to the publisher, the sequel, known internally as “Project III,” will include shared-progression co-op, and will feature “a more commercial narrative and art style” with higher production values. Details about the sequel remain under wraps, but fans are expecting a full reveal sometime in 2025.
