Interestingly, this isn’t the first time that MAPPA has worked on a video game. In the past, MAPPA has helped produce the opening animation for Persona 5 Royal, and Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade.
MAPPA’s Most Anticipated Projects
MAPPA is currently working on multiple anime projects, the biggest ofwhich is Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc. Chainsaw Man’s first season was released back in 2021. Since then, fans have been waiting for updates regarding future projects. Even though the movie was announced a long time ago, MAPPA did not provide a release date until Jump Festa 2025. The movie will retain most of the staff members from the first season, except for the director. Tatsuya Yoshihara is confirmed to be directing the movie.
MAPPA is also working to create a compilation movie for Jujutsu Kaisen’s Hidden Inventory arc. The movie will only focuson the Hidden Inventory arc, which covers Gojo Satoru’s past and his relationship with Suguru Geto. It also features Toji Fushiguro, one of the strongest known characters in Jujutsu Kaisen.
At Jump Festa 2025, MAPPA also released a new visual for the Culling Game arc, which will be adapted in the third season of the anime. The studio did not provide a release window for the anime, but it’s likely to premiere in 2026.
