Marvel Rivalsis adding Thor’s Love and Thunder and Star-Lord’s Master of the Sun cosmetic outfits to the game on July 13, 2025. Although having only just released early in December,Marvel Rivalshas already proven to be a huge hit for NetEase and with a plan to continue releasing new content through seasons and cosmetics, players have a lot to look forward to.
Even though not all players are happy with some of theskin prices inMarvel Rivals, NetEase has plenty of source material to mine for the game’s huge roster of characters. During Season 0, NetEase has opted to add MCU-styled skins into the shop for many of its characters, but with decades of comics to look back on, fans will likely be seeing plenty of unique designs over the coming months. In fact, NetEase is planning on adding new cosmetics to the shop for Thor and Star-Lord.
Starting on December 13, Marvel Rivals is adding Thor’s design from the Marvel Cinematic Universe’sLove and Thundermovie. The design features his long, flowing red cape, with gold trimmed armor and arcing lightning throughout. WhileMarvel Rival’s version of Thoris older looking, this skin better resembles Chris Hemsworth’s version from the film.

In addition,Marvel Rivalsis also bringing back Star-Lord’s unique Master of the Sun outfit as well. The skin became a popular pick during theMarvel Rivalsbeta tests, and it isn’t hard to see why. The cosmetic adds some big changes to Star-Lord’s base look, removing the mask and giving Peter Quill a blonde beard, spiked hair similar to aDragon Ballcharacter, a black jumpsuit with gold trim and flame-like colors.
While Marvel Rivals launched with plenty of cosmetics for those looking for more outside of the default options, many have been wondering when or if many of the Alpha and Beta skins would be available again. How often skins are added to the game is another common community question, and with a lot ofpopularMarvel Rivalsbeta skinsstill missing, it’s possible NetEase is planning to keep the shop stocked with new content during seasons.
