Marvel Rivalshas plenty of unique and fascinating characters to play between Duelists, Vanguards, and Strategists. One of the best Duelists in theMarvelhero-shooter, as well as the most difficult hero to play, isSpider-Man. Spider-Man is a phenomenal assassin-like DPS hero that can very quickly swing to the back line of an enemy team, take out ‘squishier’ characters like Cloak and Dagger or Hawkeye, and just as quickly return to his own team.
The famous Web-Head can struggle when not working with the most efficient team composition. For Spider-Man, fans will want to team up with front-line heroes, as well as characters with team-up abilities relative to Spider-Man.
10Cloak And Dagger
Easy Healing and Great DPS Support
These three heroes — Cloak, Dagger, and Spider-Man — have all worked together in New York City to fight against crime and supervillains. InMarvel Rivals, the three keep that same synergy together. These heroes can rapidly take out smaller targets on the enemy team.
Dagger’s blades will home in on Spider-Man, which allows him to continue swinging around while being healed. With Cloak in battle, Spider-Man can help Cloak take out enemies that have the Vulnerability effect on them from Terror Cape. Cloak’s primary fire is also a great support in helping Spider-Man take out enemy heroes.
9Luna Snow
Heals On-The-Go
Since Spider-Man is always moving around, swinging through the air, and running on walls, some Strategists may find it difficult to keep Spider-Man healed. That is why it is great tohave Luna Snowon Spider-Man’s team. Not only do her various healing abilities reach Spider-Man fairly fast, but her Share the Stage ability allows her to place a snowflake onto Spider-Man.
This healing snowflake will heal Spider-Man as Luna Snow is healing other teammates. With this ability placed onto Spider-Man, he can run to the backline and be healed without having to return.
8Peni Parker
Front-Line Tank and Team-Up
Peni Parker is one of the best tanks inMarvel Rivalsfor several reasons, with one important factor being that she can flawlessly push an enemy team and just as brilliantly hold an objective. These types of heroes are important for taking the attention off her teammates with less health, as well as doing as much damage with her mines and infinite-ammo turrets.
Not only do she and Spider-Man have a team-up ability with Venom, but they work together too. Spider-Man can sneak up on targets more easily with Peni taking on so many enemies. With her mines and such, Peni is always dishing out damage for Spider-Man to take advantage of, picking off low-health enemies.
7Hela
DPS Support and Counter
With Hela’s primary fire doing such incredible damage, as well as her being a hit-scan character and withholding a decent escape tool, Hela is one of thebest DPS heroesinMarvel Rivals. Any team can perform wonderfully with a Hela on board, and that stays true with Spider-Man.
Spider-Man and Hela can pick off enemies with impressive speed, as Hela’s hit-scan attacks melt through the enemy team and Spider-Man assassinates those hiding in the back. Hela also counters some of Spider-Man’s worst enemies, such as Hawkeye and an enemy Spider-Man.
6Punisher
Counter and Push Support
For an efficient Spider-Man team composition, it’s always important to include characters that can push an objective and dish out damage to front-line foes. The Punisher does these two things with finesse.
The Punisher’s primary weapons can dissipate enemies when played by someone with decent aim, and he can be the leading Duelist in pushing an objective when needed. Like Hela, ThePunisher is greatat helping Spider-Man pick off various enemies that don’t have much health, and he can take out Spidey’s counters.
5Doctor Strange
Front-Line Tank Garnering Attention
Tanks play many more detailed roles inMarvel Rivals, from diving in on the action to setting the way for the team to push an objective. Doctor Strange can perform both of these tasks in certain circumstances, but can always play the latter with success. Doctor Strange’s shield and portal are fantastic ways to get the team on the objective, and can also synergize with Spidey’s abilities.
Strange’s portal combos wellwith any ultimate,including Spider-Man’s, which can ‘Ace’ out an entire team when played right. Spider-Man can also counter Strange’s foes, as well as help the Vanguard fight off long-ranged characters.
4Jeff The Land Shark
Handy Healing Bubbles
Jeff the Land Shark hasbecome both famous and infamousinMarvel Rivalsupon release, due to his likability and game-changing ultimate ability. With Jeff on the team, Spider-Man can worry less about receiving healing and capturing an objective, and focus more on eliminating those in the back of the enemy team.
Not only does Jeff’s healing beam heal rapidly, but his bubbles can save Spider-Man’s life multiple times in a game. Spider-Man has to rely on healing kits around the map from time to time, using his webs to dive into a med pack. With bubbles placed around him, Spider-Man can utilize these as well to stay in the fight.
3Mantis
Efficient Healing and Damage Boost
Just like Luna Snow, Mantis has an ability that allows her to heal her friends without directly engaging with them like Loki or Dagger. With the click of a button, Mantis attaches a Life Orb to an ally to allow them to heal for a short period of time. In fact, Mantis can attach multiple orbs onto her allies to heal more than one person.
Her other Life Orb will give her teammates a damage boost, which is good for DPS heroes. Spider-Man benefits from Mantis by being healed while swinging around, and with Mantis' damage boost to more swiftly take out back-line foes.
2Squirrel Girl
Team-Up Boost and DPS Counter
Spider-Man is the leader of oneteam-up group:Spider-Man and Squirrel Girl. With these two on a team together, Spider-Man receives a 10% boost to his damage, and Squirrel Girl gains access to the Webbed Acorn ability.
Beyond the technical team-up, the two work wonders together as they ravish the enemy team’s HP in different areas. While Spider-Man focuses on unsuspecting foes in the backline or squishies, Squirrel Girl uses her bombs to spread damage out on groups, blow through the Vanguards, or take out a Duelist or Support hero with a few acorns.
1Venom
Fantastic Team-Up and Diving Support
Of all the characters onMarvel Rivals’roster, Venom and Spider-Man have some of the best synergy. When fightingtogether as Vanguardand Duelist allies, their team-up ability activates. This gives Venom 150+ HP and gives Spider-Man access to the Suit Expulsion ability. Suit Expulsion allows Spider-Man to have his attached symbiote burst in an AoE attack, doing quick damage and continuous knockback.
The best thing about this ability is that it allows Spider-Man to finish off enemies even faster with his combos. With Venom and Spider-Man diving into the backline together, the enemy team will have a much more difficult time finding any sort of space to drill damage, heals, and the objective.
