OneNexus Mods user recently uploaded a Donald Trump mod forone ofMarvel Rivals' popular Vanguards, Captain America. It made the rounds on social media, with some even looking for players with the Joe Biden mod, so they could queue up in a match. However,Nexus Mods seems to have banned and removed the Trump modbecause players are directed to an error page that says it can’t be found on the site. Likewise, the Biden mod is also unsearchable on the website.
Why Was the Donald Trump Marvel Rivals Mod Removed?
Back in 2020,Nexus Mods released a blogstating that it would ban mods relating to sociopolitical issues in the United States, and encouraged users to report any mods that would violate this rule. This announcement was around the same time as the highly-contested election between then-incumbent President Trump and his challenger Biden, who eventually won the race.
Over on social media, manyMarvel Rivalsfans weren’t surprised that the mod got banned, mostly pointing out how Captain America’s model wasn’t suitable for Trump. Meanwhile, a select few seemed displeased that Nexus Mods is banning any political imagery from its site. This isn’t the first time that Trump has been used for a video game mod.
