NetEase Games will be kicking off the new season with the release of Mister Fantastic andThe Invisible Woman inMarvel Rivals. Seasons will last roughly three months, and players can expect to see The Thing and Human Torch six or seven weeks into Season 1. The developers officially confirmed that Mister Fantastic will be a Duelist and The Invisible Woman will be a Strategist. In addition to characters from The Fantastic Four, players can expect to see the Baxter Building as a key location in one of the game’s new maps.
In Volume 3 of their Dev Vision video series,Marvel Rivalsconfirmed that players can expect to see maps, a new game mode, and a fresh battle pass alongside the release of The Fantastic Four. The battle pass will consist of 10 new skins and cost 990 Lattice, but gamers will earn 600 Lattice and 600 Units back as they complete the pass. Players will also be treated to a new game mode called Doom Match, which will take place on the new Empire of the Eternal Night: Sanctum Sanctorum map. The new way to play is considered an arcade mode made up of 8-12 people battling across the map, with the top 50% of players claiming victory at the end of the match.

When talking about the game’s other maps, the developers revealed that the Empire of the Eternal Night: Midtown will be used for convoy missions. Players now know about the Empire of the Eternal Night: Central Park map, but the developers didn’t get into any specific details about it. However, it will launch during the second half of Season 1 in six or seven weeks. It was recently leaked thata PvE mode could be in the works forMarvel Rivals, but the developers didn’t address such rumors in this update.
The developers also talked about the importance of player feedback and said it has been paying close attention to the community’s discussions. They acknowledged the ranged superiority ofcharacters like Hawkeye inMarvel Rivals, and intend to address a wide variety of balancing issues throughout the first half of Season 1.
