There was an era where the social network Facebook was a hotbed for small, experimental social games. Of thoseFacebook games, one with a cult followingMiscritsis being revived by a small and dedicated community on Discord, and it has reached closed alpha testing. Most fascinating, the project has the support ofMiscrits’ original creator Robert Nelson.

Game Rant had a brief conversation with members of the community supportingtheMiscritsrevival, including project lead GK. They gave a quick glimpse inside the community that supports the current alpha test of theMiscritsrevival.

Bringing Back Classic Miscrits

Q: Can you introduce yourself?

GK:My name is Fake GK. Together with Minato, we are working on a new version ofMiscrits, and this time we will make it much better and more optimized. It will also be more similar to the originalMiscritsin small details.

Q: What makesMiscritsso special to you?

GK:As a child, I lovedMiscritsvery much. My older brother showed them to me and we played together. Then, one day, Itried to log into my favorite game, but I couldn’t. From that moment on, I wanted to attempt to restoreMiscrits. I defend thatMiscritsis a unique game into which they put a lot of work. These locations look beautiful. Lots of beautiful animations. I haven’t seen such a cool game sinceMiscritsclosed.

Q: How long have you been working on the revival?

GK:About 10 months have passed since the revival of the currently available version. Before that, I also made an offline version. Our team has one most important plan–to make the game much better by making many important and necessary changes. The biggest difficulty is probably the time that will need to be invested to revive this project.

Q: How doesMiscritscompare to other creature collectors?

GK:Miscritsdiffers from other such games in thatMiscritshas a lot of locations and characters. This is a huge job for artists since it is very difficult to draw even one Miscrit. After adding all the content from the original, there willprobably be a continuation of the story, new locations, and Miscrits. There are many things to be done before the new version is released, but this version will be much better!

Q: Anything you’d like to add?

GK:I want to add that Miscrits is a legendary game. Since the time it was on Facebook, it took a lot of effort and resources from the developers to create it.
