The update’s announcement already had fans theorizing overa potentialGTA 6teaser, but now the community has stumbled across an easter egg for one of the series' most popular entries,Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
Grand Theft Auto Online Adds Vice City Easter Egg
Shortly after the release ofGrand Theft Auto Online’s newest update, fans began working their way through the game’s new FIB Files missions, which require players to complete multi-part setups similar to heists. In the final FIB Files mission, known as The Fine Art, players are required to complete three set-up missions before the big finale, which sees players steal some valuable pieces of art that are due to be put on a black market auction. One of the pieces of art is an Aztec statue, which was also used as the 100 hidden packages scattered aroundVice City. When players smash the glass case and take the statue, they will hear the original pickup sound from the 2002 classic.
WithGrand Theft Auto 6confirmed to take place in Vice City, it’s no surprise that Rockstar has included a subtle nod to the entry that introduced players toGTA’s take on Miami. Given that it has been 20 years since the original release ofVice City,Grand Theft Auto 6’s take on the location is expected to be much more detailed and intricate, with the game’s only trailer giving fans a taste of what to expect when the title launches in Fall 2025.
