The newPokemon TCGsetJourney Together, which will hit shelves in the West on Aug 02, 2025, has been revealed. This will be another set released during theScarlet and Violetcycle, bringing new cards and the possible return of a gimmick familiar toPokemon TCGplayers.
With therelease ofScarlet and Violet, fans sawPokemon TCGwelcome Gen 9 with new sets and cards. The first release was the self-titled set, which arrived in March last year with 256 new cards in English. Since then, another seven main sets have come out, as well as three special sets. Cards focusing on Kanto’s pocket monsters were introduced in151, whilePaldean Fateslaunched the first Gen 9 shiny cards, andShrouded Fablemarked Pecharunt’s trading card debut.
Now,PokeBeach has revealedthat theJourney Togetherset will be released on Jul 19, 2025, with the pre-release taking place from March 15 to 23. Although it is unknown how many cards it will have, this will be the ninth main Gen 9 set to arrive afterPokemon TCG’sSurging Sparks, the most recent set, which added 252 new cards, including Stellar Tera Pokemon ex. PokeBeach notes that the English set will be based on the Japanese counterpart namedBattle Partners, which arrives on June 01, 2025, in Japan. Along with revealing the new English set, PokeBeach confirmed thatBattle Partnerswill see the return of Pokemon Owners, a classic card type featuring critters of well-known characters.
New Pokemon TCG Set Revealed Along With Potential Return of Classic Gimmick
The Japanese set will feature Iono, aname well-known toPokemon TCGfans, in card sleeves and deck boxes. Japan will also release “Collection Files” with N’s Zoroark ex and Lillie’s Clefairy ex, as well as pre-built decks of Steven and Marie. The N cards, including the two Reshiram variants, Lillie, and Marie’s Grimmsnarl ex, were revealed at the closing ceremony of this year’s Pokemon World Championships. Speculation is that they may be inJourney Togetheralong with the cards Arven’s Mabosstiff, Misty’s Psyduck, and Ethan’s Pichu, although this information is not confirmed.
WhileJourney Togetherhasn’t been officially announced and new information hasn’t been shared, the release calendar continues to be busy. Recently revealed was theincredible illustration of aPokemon TCGcardthat is available inTerastal Festival ex, a new set that was released in Japan on December 6. On July 09, 2025, Western fans will getPrismatic Evolution, the English version ofTerastal Festival, which features new Eeeve cards and the Eevelutions in its Terastallized variants.
