Summary
After finishingShaman King: The Super Star, publisherKodanshaand creatorHiroyuki Takeiconfirmed anew sequel was already planned. This sequel, titledShaman King Yard, isnow confirmed to be the finalShaman Kingarc.
It is important to note that being the final arc does not necessarily mean the story will be short, it’s just that it will be the last (this series has not been adapted into animation, but the previous ones can be found onNetflix).

Kodansha isyet to announce whenShaman King Yardwill start serialization, but Takei is already working on it. The finalShaman King: The Super Staris slated for Jun 29, 2025, and publishers use the release of new volumes as pretexts to make big announcements, so it’s possible (but unconfirmed) they will announce the serialization date in January 2025.
Shaman King: The Super Star Turbulent Publication
The Super Starran from 2018 to 2024, but it isonly 68 chapters long(and the last volume will be the 10th). Serialization was irregular. The manga launched in theShonen Magazine Edge,where it was published until the magazine shut down, in October 2023. The series would only resume almost a year later, in August 2024, on theMagazine Pocketwebmanga platform. It is likely the series was not planned to run for such a long time.
Shaman King Manga and Anime
TheoriginalShaman Kingmangawas published inShueisha’sShonen Jumpmagazine, running from 1998 to 2004. Creator Hiroyuki Takei also published a spin-off manga titledFunbari Poem(2003-2004) and theShaman King: Zeroprequel (2011-2014). The series spawned a popular anime adaptation in 2001-2002, by studio Xebec. In 2021-2022, a remake by studio Bridge aired in Japan, and was released internationally on Netflix.
While writingZero, Takei started serializing the first sequel,Shaman King Flowers(2012-2014), stillworking for Shueisha. This series was compiled into 6 volumes and was recently adapted into animation by studio Bridge, after the remake finished airing (it’s also on Netflix).
Shaman Kingis about Yoh Asakura on his quest to become the Shaman King, but the sequel is about a new generation. Yoh’s son, Hana Asakura, goes on a journey through the Shaman world.
Then Takei moved to Kodansha and startedShaman King: The Super Stars, which continues the adventures of Hana Asakura. In the meantime, Kodansha acquired the rights to the series, and recompiled all previousShaman Kingmangas.A few spin-off stories penned by Jet Kusamura (and one by Kusamura and Kyo Nuesawa) have been serialized inKodansha’s manga magazines.
AllShaman Kingmanga, including theFunbari Poemspin-off, are licensed in the US by Kodansha USA. Shaman King: The Super Starand Jet Kusamura mangas are only published digitally in English.
